haute couture
Today I treated myself to YSL Mon Paris - and only discovered at home that in elegant script it also says Couture on the box.

Oops - what can I expect from this?

Couture for me is a pair of blue jeans - combined with a white T-shirt and white sneakers.
With "haute Couture," I throw on a blue denim shirt.

That's how I feel top chic.

My father saw it differently.
For an invitation to a fancy restaurant, he added: But please not the denim shirt - we all know that one by now.
I was a bit offended - isn't that a cool outfit?
I reflect and have to admit that it might also come across as a bit... boring?

When he picks me up, he personally looks into my closet and pulls out an asymmetrically buttoned plum-colored blouse - paired with a black flared skirt - and black pumps from the shoe rack.
What I have in there... Amazing.
I get dressed - and Dad sighs: finally not so student-like anymore!

At the restaurant, my sister is amazed: How pretty she looks - when she is nicely washed and combed!

As a finishing touch, I should have worn YSL couture, because this round, buoyant chic scent would have crowned my casual elegance.
Transparent and fruity, it envelops me - deepened by soft rose and light patchouli - and musk gives it a subtle shine.
The orange blossom bathes couture in warm light - just as our table is illuminated by candles.

But this friendly scent also elevates my everyday couture - I’ve tried it out.

It's great
I recently tested the original Mon Paris.
I don't like this one at all.
I wrote a statement about it.
Hmmm, so at the beginning, strawberry and raspberry jump out at you.
Really... Full blast... In your face...
These two notes dominate throughout the entire fragrance journey.
It became clear to me that strawberry in fragrances is not my thing.
So MP was out for me.

Shortly after, I saw that there is a Couture version.
I found this immediately interesting ---> no strawberry, grapefruit, and lychee (I think grapefruit and lychee are great in spring and summer fragrances).
Of course, I had to test it.
At the beginning, raspberry, lychee, bergamot, and grapefruit dominate for me.
I really like the grapefruit and bergamot here, as they prevent the fragrance from becoming too syrupy-sweet.
And they give it a bit of freshness.
The scent develops really nicely: for me, it's a raspberry-grapefruit mix.
Along with lychee, rose, musk, and patchouli (which gives the fragrance some depth and earthiness, like in MP).
If I had to describe it in a few words, I would say: sweet-citrusy, fruity, fresh, a bit rosy + musk.

As for longevity, I can't complain.
I applied MPC in the morning and still noticed it in the afternoon.

I would categorize MP more for autumn, winter, and spring.
I think it's too much for summer.
MPC, on the other hand, can be worn all year round, in my opinion.
With grapefruit and lychee, this fragrance is a great summer companion.

I don't know the other MP versions.
As for MP and MPC, I must clearly say that MPC is the better MP for me.

The City of Love?
Hello everyone, I'm back and as always, I hope you can at least somewhat tolerate me this evening. I won't ramble too much and… oh, what am I saying?... Of course, I will ramble, so you will have to endure me :D

So, today I'm talking about Mon Paris Couture by Yves Saint Laurent. First of all: No, I haven't tried the other Mon Paris fragrances yet, so this won't be a comparative comment. Otherwise, oh yes, Paris… the dream city for many people. One dreams of beautiful streets and corners, romance, the Eiffel Tower, and pretty French girls. I think all of that doesn't always hold true… the last time I was in Paris, where I stayed (which admittedly wasn't exactly a posh district…), a huge trash can was set on fire by teenagers on the very first night. But it could be that the boys and girls thought they could enhance the romance by setting the trash can on fire, so to speak, as a "campfire romance" :D
This would also explain the many couples seen everywhere on the streets (and bus stops) passionately kissing… (oh, a dreadful sight for singles… :DDD).

Be that as it may, I will just assume that Paris is still a beautiful, romantic city. And before I ramble on forever (I did warn you), let me get to the scent "quickly"!

The Scent:
The beginning is floral, citrusy, and sweet. It slightly reminds me of refreshing, delicious fruit ice or tasty candies, which admittedly makes my mouth water a bit (so this is once again one of those scents that makes you want to bite the lady next to you :D).
From the citrus notes, I would guess grapefruit and lemon, and for the floral notes, especially rose. Fruity notes seem to come from raspberry, while other sweet scents remind me of musk.
A little later, patchouli comes in, whose earthy scent makes the fragrance feel more mature. At first, the patchouli seems to become stronger, but then it fades a bit in the base, making the scent appear sweeter again. Otherwise, in the base, you can smell an amber-like sweetness, which is soon caught up by the musk. And although the scent occasionally appears slightly synthetic, overall it has turned out quite nice. It is pretty, maybe a bit too sugary, but indeed pretty.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite okay. So neither too strong nor too weak. There will definitely be a scent cloud for a while, so you will surely be noticed with this fragrance. The longevity is about eight hours and a bit more, as the sweet notes linger longer.

The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular with beveled edges on the top. In terms of shape, it slightly reminds me of the bottles from the Mon Guerlain line, only this one is a bit rounder. It features a beautiful black bow with white dots around the neck. The cap is rectangular and transparent. A very beautiful bottle!

Conclusion:
So… that was the scent with the name of the city of love (ugh, how that sounds… well, maybe I’ll think differently when I have a girlfriend :DD We’ll see!). So… the scent isn’t really bad. I even think it deserves more than the average 6.9 points here.
But here comes the BUT: Most of you will probably not like it, simply because the scent, except for a brief moment in the heart note (where you can smell patchouli), is quite teenager-like and thus more suitable for significantly younger girls.

Of course, I would also quite like such a scent on adults or… women who have surpassed the age of 25-30 (uh… and more) and think they are too old for such a scent, and find it quite appealing :D However, I am also a quirky bird here, it’s incredible that my comments are still considered helpful :DD

Sometimes, though, the patchouli seems to flash stronger again, making you feel that the scent isn’t just for younger people. But since it is said that scents differ on every skin, there’s only one thing to do: Get to the "meat,"… uh… oh God, I probably shouldn’t say that when speaking to you ladies… I meant, get to the scent and test it yourself :DD

By the way, since I mentioned Guerlain earlier, I must say that I find the Mon Guerlain scents, with few exceptions, much better; you should definitely try them when you get the chance :)

Well, that’s it again. Please excuse me if I said at the beginning that I currently can’t relate much to the city of Paris. But the year is still young… who knows if I can end my eternal single life this year (hey, you could place bets on that, wouldn’t that be an idea!!), then I might have a different opinion about Paris… unless someone sets a trash can on fire while kissing again… :DD

Well then, until next time and have a lovely evening, everyone :)

Mon Paris Couture
This fragrance was allowed to join my collection after the
classic "Mon Paris," and I had to grab it at a bargain price.
The opening for me begins with a somewhat soapy grapefruit note, which relatively quickly fades away after a few minutes, while the scent develops into red berries. I didn't think of raspberries directly, but rather of a plate full of various red berries dusted with a fine layer of powdered sugar, bringing a sweetness that I don't find exaggerated at all. As it progresses, I start to smell the roses. Much less noticeable, until after about 2-3 hours I can no longer perceive it at all. This could certainly be due to my nose; nevertheless, I can only report on my personal experiences. I don't find the scent bad and I'm not too disappointed about its longevity given the good price. At times, the fragrance reminded me of "Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming," which also contains some similar scent notes.
I find the fragrance very suitable for spring and would describe it as relatively "unobtrusive." I like the bottle and it looks great next to the classic scent. In comparison, I find the Couture quite similar, but still a bit sweeter than "Mon Paris."
I find it difficult to give an age recommendation for fragrances, as it also depends on the type and how the scent develops individually, and tastes are indeed different!

The fruity top notes are very noticeable and hide a little the flowery notes. Anyway, I like this gourmand bouquet .Nice the bottle .

Fruity rose water on caramelized substitute wood. Inflated by white musk. As skillful as it is dull.

Generic but pleasant fruity scent on a fresh rose bed. There are definitely worse ones of this kind. But also definitely better ones.

A bit sweeter and more defined than the EdP. Otherwise very similar. I slightly prefer Couture.

Lovely, delicate scent with fruits and flowers. Great for spring and summer. In my opinion, this perfume is more suited for younger people.

Sweet little fruits roll through the flower garden. Dirty from the earth, off to the creamy musk bath. Not my thing, but nice for teens.

Nice, sugary-sweet, generic, 0815. Human "Üssel" where's the class? Better go for LVEB, at least that has a kind of cult status.

Katjes/Haribo/Trolli gummy treats stuck between my teeth, I smell the floral arrangement. The roses are surprisingly green. Overall, too sweet.

Light fruits beautifully nestled on roses, with a subtle yet skillful patchouli musk underneath. Fancier than the original, elegant, perfectly balanced. Top!
