Mon Paris Yves Saint Laurent 2017 Eau de Toilette

I use to own the edp version of Mon Paris and I really loved it, now I got my hands on the edt and I love it just as much. They are very similar, both are sweet, fruity, juicy and fresh and has that patchouli in them that makes them smell so good and last trough out the day. The edp is a bit stronger though, and the patchouli is heavier so I do think I prefer the edt, it's softer with more musk and sits like a veil around you.

While browsing in the perfumery, I tested one or another fragrance without a specific goal. For my birthday, I received a voucher and currently just can't decide which one I really want to add to my collection from my wish list.
Maybe someone else knows this phenomenon, that as soon as you own a fragrance that you assumed would be truly wonderful, after wearing it a few times, the initial enthusiasm slowly fades. Fortunately, this doesn't happen with every purchase of mine, but it has happened to me about 2 or 3 times.

Without any expectations, I sprayed Mon Paris edt out of curiosity for new releases and added a second fragrance to my other wrist. The first sniff was already very appetizing, but there were also other scents I had tested during this visit. Indecisively, I left the perfumery and strolled through the city to run some errands.
And yes... you probably guessed it, you've all experienced it... I've read it many times here: What unfolded on my wrist within a few minutes was simply heavenly!
The fragrance began to vibrate as if alive, and it felt like tiny glitter particles, colorful butterflies, and flower petals dipped in sweet berry juice were cascading from my wrist as I started to gently sway it back and forth.

The scent has a romantic side; a bit cheesy perhaps, as these fruity raspberries and blackberries, combined with the thorn apple, create a distinctly pronounced sweetness that almost tickles the nose. It sparkles and hisses, pink, frothy and bubbly sweet with a citrus note. I find this fruit cocktail extraordinarily delightful. It's not a cotton candy sweetness like LVEB, but rather a berry-like slightly tart sweetness with wonderful aromas. There's a bit of princess and pink in this bottle.
The flowers are a hit for me: Neroli, peonies, and jasmine all enjoy my admiration.
With patchouli and white musk in the base, many of my favorite women's fragrances are equipped, and here too, all the notes fit together wonderfully. Perhaps it's the ambroxan that gives this fragrance its radiance and makes it feel so rich and full.
All in all, a very appetizing, sweet, fruity women's fragrance that appears cheerful and playful, yet still has a subtly seductive side. I can easily imagine this scent on a first date when one is already in the mood for flirting and joking but doesn't want to reveal everything about oneself right away - especially not their dark sides.

I am thrilled by the intensity of the scent, even though it is just an edt; a quality that I miss in many fragrances and is crucial in determining whether a purchase is worthwhile for me or not.
I always find it quite difficult to assess the sillage without support, but I would say that it radiates well, as with movements of the wrist and swirling in the air, the fragrance becomes present again. It lasts on the wrist for up to 7 hours.

What this fragrance does not offer, in my opinion, is offensive sensuality, pure seduction, a mysterious aura, or even a factual, clear elegance or coolness, as is often desired for an office scent. I perceive the fragrance as rather romantic, charming, cheerful, and perhaps a bit cheeky.

The scent reminds me very much of Miss Dior Chérie. Back then, I was completely crazy about that fragrance and find it a shame that it was discontinued. I would also cautiously suggest a bit of similarity to Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming. I will have to test both in parallel again to assess that more accurately. I am also familiar with Mon Paris edp, but I find the edt to be better executed, as it is less one-dimensionally sweet. In any case, this fragrance remains on my radar and is in the running for my wish list.

Today would have been my little poodle Sami's birthday - and I want to bring him red roses.

But before the arduous journey to the cemetery, I stop by the perfumery to prepare myself.

And it is just as vibrant and sweet as my little missing darling.
It feels as if the little one is sending me a piece of colorful rainbow - and barking at me: Cheer up!

The bergamot is fresh and cheerful - and blackberry - and raspberry are charmingly sweet.
Elegance is added by jasmine and peony, and patchouli imparts a thoughtful touch.

All of this reflects the character of my lovely little dog.

Moreover, Mon Paris is "tres chique" - and fits the aura of my poodle.
No wonder the French claim the origin of this beautiful breed for themselves.

In any case, I am walking today under a protective rainbow.

The large windows in the living room and bedroom are wide open. From afar, you can already hear the thunder, still faint and hard to distinguish from a truck on the country road, but it’s Sunday.
In a fit of clumsiness, I spray Mon Paris directly into my face. No joke, I narrowly save my eye from the big drop I didn’t expect.
I can even say something about the taste of the perfume from Yves Saint Laurent… not recommended.
It is bitter and fresh. It reminds me of summer days in bustling pedestrian zones of affluent cities, where many women take great pride in their appearance. That’s the scent you smell in the boutiques and cafés.
Or at Douglas. When you walk in, it’s roughly this base scent that greets you.
There’s something fruity, but that quickly fades away.
In the meantime, one thunderstorm later, it bores me like all the new ones that call themselves something different yet smell the same. A bit warm, a bit sparkling wine, a bit pretentious, not exciting enough and not different at all. Too much citrus reminds me once again of various cleaners… I’m just as much a fan of Black Opium and its siblings. Slowly, YSL is becoming less and less appealing to me in terms of perfume.
So I remain on the path of searching and am glad that this was just a short, harmless shower in the form of a free sample. Although a real impact would have brought some light into the darkness once again.

This fragrance instantly brought a smile to my face when I sprayed it! As berrylicious as fresh red currant from the garden, it transports you straight back to summer days of childhood. A few minutes later, the scent becomes elegantly floral, only lightly underscored by berries. Now you're truly in Paris, strolling along the Champs Élysées, très chic, yet relaxed and very feminine. This gentle berry-floral quality lingers for hours, neither sweet nor overpowering for me, just cheerful, pleasant, and relaxed. At no point does anything unpleasant stand out, as is the case with most other fragrances. Even after hours, I find myself smiling spontaneously when I catch a whiff, and I feel immediately at ease. I wear it daily; only for going out should it be something more enchanting.
