			Marshmallow or just orange blossom?

Ah, Black Opium, my old love that often gets a bad rep: Too sweet, too girly, nothing to do with the 1970s classic Opium - Whatever, I like sweet and girly, and if I wanted to smell like OG Opium, I would just wear that instead.
So of course I try all the flankers they come up with, with varying success.
Black Opium Glitter is not a complete reinvention of the scent profile, but different enough to not confuse it for any other scent in the Black Opium lineup. It still has the signature coffee note and the sweet vanilla white floral base. The pear note, which I find very prominent in the original, is missing, and the overall impression is a bit lighter and airier.
Orange blossom is amped up by a good bit. Even though it's also a listed note in the original EDP, I never found it very noticeable there. But here it stands out. It has a bit of an old-fashioned boudoir vibe, with the slightest hint of a memory of JPG Classique, which I enjoy a lot, especially in contrast with Black Opium's vanilla latte profile.
The marshmallow note is a bit misleading in my opinion. This doesn't have the fluffy, powdery texture of a marshmallow. But as marshmallow notes in perfumery usually consist of vanilla and orange blossom, the lines are blurred. I can understand how others could say this smells like marshmallows, it's just that to me it smells more like vanilla and orange blossom separately.
I don't think that this gives glittery, sparkly vibes at all. It's way to smooth and soft for that, it doesn't have the liveliness I associate with glitter. If I had to name this, I would go for "Black Opium Florale" or something in that vein.
Anyways, it's not my favorite Black Opium ever, but quite a lovely scent for any fan of this line.
