But I guess there's no such thing as a "but".
The scents of Zoologist are certainly anything but boring. Some of them are even real challenges for my nose, which can even bring me to my knees, as my recent experience with Hyrax has proven once again.
Recently, Dragonfly appeared in my face and since I like to test practically everything that is kindly made available to me, I also took the dragonfly, according to the German translation, quite carefree With this fragrance one would like to olfactorically appreciate the dragonflies and their habitat. Which worked very well in my nose.
Once you have the opportunity to take a closer look at dragonflies, you will realize what fascinating and filigree beauties these insects are. There are some specimens that reach a considerable body size and shimmer in splendid colours That dragonflies are of predatory nature and grab their unsuspecting victims out of flight and kill them with their powerful biting tools, we leave standing in the room. As everywhere in nature, "eat and be eaten" applies, because there are again numerous predators, which dragonflies love to see on their menu.
Contrary to widespread belief, dragonflies are completely harmless to humans and they cannot sting either.
A few years ago a rather large, greenish iridescent dragonfly once flew into my living room. At first it flew around somewhat confused and aimlessly and then eyed me attentively for a while. But then it could see that I could never harm it and shortly afterwards it remembered where the open window was and disappeared again without a word. I would have liked to know the thoughts of the dragonfly
Dragonfly is as multifaceted and fascinating as the dragonflies themselves. It offers a rather wide range of scents, from floral, to fruity and somewhat woody, to aquatic notes.
All the areas that dragonflies either need as a habitat or choose for prey.

The fragrance is very flowery and also quite sweet. Aldehydes are clearly audible here, which underline the floralness in a shimmering and powdery way. Fruity notes are added, but it is not possible to define them more precisely. The fruits seem to me to be a little bit very ripe, because they are very sweet and quite penetrating.
Then it gets interesting, because this floral-fruity sweetness is interspersed with an aquatic note. And aquatic notes are quite delicate for me. There are few fragrances with aquatic notes that I like. Most of the time it's too over-the-top, too algal and often too artificial. Although the North Sea coast is still a good 100 km away from me, I know what it smells like on the water. Actually, no scent can reflect this realistically But the aquatic note of Dragonfly still gets the turnaround and is quite discreet and doesn't remind me of stale flower water. Olle's floral water thoroughly disliked Jardin d'Iris from Pryn Parfums at the time Even though this note is muted on Dragonfly, it is a certain "but" for me and develops into a slight disturbing factor for me.
It is always said that every fragrance needs an opposite pole, a small edge or a certain amount of dirt to make it interesting. I largely agree with this, but I would have preferred a different edge here.
But Dragonfly is not an aquatic fragrance in the strict sense.

In addition, slightly woody notes are added in the course of the song and moss that appears moist.
The distinct sweetness recedes somewhat after a while.
So an interesting course can be attested to this fragrance in any case. There are scents that run much more linear and hardly change at all Dragonfly is not a noisy scent that kills with an overloaded scent pyramid. It is present and has a very good durability. I can perceive it for a good 8 hours and it does not spread an immense veil of scent.

However, this fragrance will not be a candidate for purchase, I like flowery-sweet, but for me the whole thing is a little too sweet and artificial and I can't imagine wearing the fragrance longer, even though it is certainly one of the more accessible zoologist fragrances.
Thus, Zoologist will remain an exciting test experience for me and does not necessarily have to press the order button.

I thank MoniE for the sample and for enriching my scent horizon and I continue to enjoy watching dragonflies in the wild. Even though they have become very rare here in the big city.

On the wings of grief
The "dragonfly" by Zoologist swarms freely and piously around the entire park - one grants her freedom. Because you know that this faithful and silvery soul will always come back, will never hurt anyone and just hums through the air in a sublime way.

"Dragonfly" is a lovely Aldyhyd storm full of rainy iris powder, bridge-building musk compounds and transparent cherry juice. Simply a round night owl, almost ghostlike. Rather feminine, that's right. But not only. Definitely the soft pink shirt among zoologists. Not a real inhabitant of the zoo, rather an elf-like narrator and protector of the enclosures and their occupants. Similar to many Narciso Rodriguez' a perfect scent for wet and cold autumn days, for rain, spray and fog, for mystical stories and the blue hour, for pausing and a raised head. This dragonfly doesn't sting (these fine animals can't do that anyway, at least not us humans), but it nestles up like a cool blanket.

Flacon: the purple juice makes the whole thing even more noble
Sillage: perceptible, smellable, palpable - but subliminal
Durability: no daytime level - 7-9 valuable hours

Conclusion: a soft and dusty Irish smoke - this "kite fly" is tame and noble, almost a bit stiff and stuffy. But since I still love Iris - a (little) heart of mine!

Botanic garden
First of all, my heartfelt thanks to the dear Amourage, thanks to which I was allowed to test this wonderful fragrance.

If you close your eyes, you can hear the dragonfly buzzing. As it buzzes through the botanical garden, which is in full bloom. The most beautiful and diverse flowers grow here. It is early in the morning, the garden is still dewy, but the first rays of sunlight caress the flowers. The dragonfly loves the water lilies at this time. Next to the small pond is a cherry blossom tree, its fragrance wafting lightly over. You can smell the moisture in the air and also a certain fresh clarity. As the day progresses, it becomes warmer and warmer and the dragonfly nibbles on the nectar of the various blossoms and then rests in the sun on a lily pad. Now the scent becomes warm and soft almost like a flowery glucose. I think you can smell the sun.
A truly magnificent and diverse floral dream. Since one would be but gladly the dragonfly.
Majestic and yet so pure at the same time.
Definitely give it a try.

Is that how elf dust smells?
The last few weeks have been kind of zoologist for me.
This is also due to the fact that I seriously wonder how this line could have passed me for such a long time. In the last few days I have been able to test Dragonfly extensively and am torn back and forth.
On the one hand a really beautiful, in comparison with the other fragrances of the line rather gentle and pleasing fellow.
On the other hand, I don't think that's enough for me. Dragonfly comes silky-soft. A hint of sweet cherry, then the smell of freshly washed laundry on the line in the wind. All accompanied and surrounded by flowers. These also look fresh and moist. In the later course of the process also something soapy, which in turn does not seem cheap (soapiness often does that, I think) but seems to provide even more freshness and lightness. It is like spraying on the early summer air soaked with budding flowers and trees.
Dragonfly is a thoroughly sweet, flowery and feathery fragrance. And absolutely feminine to me. I'm afraid so. "Unfortunately", because the zoologist-fragrances look so impudently good on the shelf...
Although he really smells beautiful - and that's probably the only fitting word - I personally wouldn't wear him. That's where the other zoologist scents kind of give me more.

Delicate nymphs ascend
The fragrance of Dragonfly is on the one hand as diverse as the eyes of a dragonfly and on the other hand as delicate and fragile as its wings and physique. It is a very pleasant, changeable fragrance that is absolutely not intrusive and exudes a fairytale-like aura. The implementation of the metamorphosis from the larva to the adult animal. A calm, relaxed mood as if you are sitting at the nearest pond watching the dragonflies dance on the water surface.

In the morning, damp haze rises over the pond, the air is filled with the smell of dew and a mixture of green and floral components, which already provide a powdery undertone. The scent is moist without being aquatic. Here, I think of rice steam, slightly dry and dusty, but still fresh and fragrant. In addition, some papyrus, slightly rough, but fittingly supporting the green part. Here and there you can hear a few croaking frogs, but they don't draw ones attention on themselves. The nymphs come to the water surface. As soon as the sun shines over the pond and the morning mist completely evaporates, the green part of the fragrance leaves me and makes room for a bouquet of flowers, which now unfolds its fullness. This creates a slightly warmer overall picture than at the beginning. Soft, dance-like, dreamy. The nymphs rise out of the water and peel their exoskeleton in the shelter of the reeds. Slowly, wings and adult bodies harden. Over time, the gorgeous colors come to light. At the end, Dragonfly completes its transformation to a sweet powdery scent. Now characterized by heliotrope and musk, the adult stage is reached and the dragonflies are buzzing over the pond until late in the evening. Their wing beats make the air vibrate. An iridescent spectacle.

The great thing about Dragonfly is the balancing act between inconspicuousness and presence. Even though it is light as a feather and rather unremarkable, it is still strong enough to last all day, exposing all those stages of metamorphosis. I find the combination of green, powder, flowers and sweetness very appealing, so that Dragonfly qualified directly as a new personal zoo member.
