Lights at sunset
Initially this fragrance might seem disconcerting, the opening is a green, slightly sweet and also pungent mix. Mango gives these sweet tones and thanks to the fir it takes greener, airy tones. Lavender gives it that pungent pinch that contrasts and makes the mix more balanced. The juniper berries continue from the back to support this initial smell and accompany it towards a flowery and creamy heart, thanks to rose and jasmine and with the frangipani, sweet and creamy that marries the protagonist of the composition, the ambergris. Lushy, salty and airy tones are mixed with this flowery sweetness and with vanilla and creamy sandalwood, tobacco adds richness and complexity to the mix. Vetiver, oakmoss and the Ensar’s trademark, Papua oud, close this evocative painting giving a more earthy dimension to this afternoon landscape along the coasts of Havana.
Rich and contrasting, excellent evolution and very easy to wear. I like it

Fruitier Little brother of Jamaican Ambergris
Habana Ambar opens with a rich blend of juicy mango and soft tobacco. The mango feels very juicy and natural, sweet with a gentle ripeness, while the tobacco stays in the background, adding a quiet depth without turning the scent dry or heavy. It creates a warm and rounded opening where the fruit is clearly the focus, supported by subtle darker tones that give it more body.

once it dries down, ambergris starts to appear, bringing a soft, slightly salty warmth that lifts the composition and gives it a more refined feel. Hints of aromatic lavender appear in the background, adding a light freshness that keeps the sweetness in check. The base fills out with smooth woods and a touch of vanilla and sandalwood, giving a creamy and smooth texture, while a faint trace of civet adds a gentle animalic warmth. Through it all, the mango remains as the main attraction, enhanced by the surrounding elements. The result is a balanced and elegant scent where juicy fruit, soft woods, and subtle animalic tones come together in addictive way.

Mango falling from its tree finally reaches the ocean
Habana Ambar EO opens with a juicy and luminous explosion of mango, surprisingly natural and enveloping. Its sweetness, never cloying, is expertly balanced by a hint of acidity that gives it freshness and momentum. Right from the start, in the background, a woody and resinous base of oud can be glimpsed, which acts as a counterpoint to the sparkling fruity opening.

Once the initial impact is overcome, the scent begins to settle, and the mango, while remaining the protagonist, gradually gives way to more complex facets. Green and aromatic notes emerge: juniper brings a balsamic freshness, fir adds a moist vegetal accent, while a touch of lavender – which I personally find a bit dissonant. The result is an atypical tropical accord, which moves away from the predictable solarity to embrace the deep and sophisticated aesthetic of Ensar Oud.

As always in the creations of the house, the assembly is meticulous and refined. The quality of the raw materials is evident, and the composition develops naturally. The oud, although present in a discreet way, gives depth, character and a sort of austere solemnity, as if the mango itself were a wild fruit grown in the heart of a tropical forest, among resinous trunks and damp scents of earth.

In the drydown, the fragrance surprisingly comes close to "Oud Ertugrul (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" : a delicate salinity emerges, probably due to the ambergris, while hints of dry tobacco, creamy sandalwood and a shadow of smoky oud make their way. The overall tone becomes warmer, calm, but never banal.

But when all seemed to have settle down, a final evolution of the fragrance: what’s left is a beautiful salty and oceanic ambergris, which makes its entrance from the previous smoky facets, what a beautiful and interesting way to disclose this experience!

In terms of composition, Habana Ambar EO is well-constructed but accessible, simple in the noble sense of the term: balanced, coherent, and wearable without excess. It is a lively, vivacious fragrance, but with a solid woody and mysterious soul. The combination of mango, aromatic greens and oud is successful, original, and capable of evoking an olfactory landscape that surprises and leaves an impression.

I personally enjoyed the most the heart of the fragrance, when the smoky facets still hadn’t showed up, but in the end the scent surprised me, and I really appreciated the artistic work behind it!

I almost...
Hello everyone,

I almost bought a 50 ml bottle BLIND, but I managed to get a sample from a friend and wanted to test it first. Today I can say, thankfully...

The fragrances from EO are usually a safe bet in the desired scent direction.

When I saw the name, along with 1, 2, 3 fragrance notes and the description from EO (on their website), my expectations were huge, and I suspected this could be their upcoming star (in terms of sales).

I suspected (or hoped) for a scent that is basically a mix of Vanille Havane Eau de Parfum and EO Ambergris, with the tobacco being even more potent.

When I received the sample, my "SHOCK" was quite large, and after multiple TESTINGS, it didn’t get any better, unfortunately... The quality of the individual notes is okay to good, but nothing more. Anyone who expects something qualitatively similar to what is usually offered will be very, very disappointed.

This is also reflected in H/S, which is okay, but a fragrance from EO that only lasts 6 to 7 hours makes it very, very hard to convey why one should buy "Habana Ambar | Ensar Oud / Oriscent".

It starts fruity with MANGO - I have never been a fan of this note and probably can't offer any added value regarding the choice of the note = they could have surely chosen something else... Very quickly, the slightly mineral beautiful ambergris follows, which is basically the best phase of the fragrance (MY OPINION!). I wished for a nice and quite potent smoky tobacco note..., the tobacco used here is hardly worth mentioning in terms of INTENSITY, just like the oud.

I think it’s great that the listed notes are included, I would NEVER (!) say they are not present, but unfortunately, in my opinion, they are more of a side character.

I saw huge potential in "Habana Ambar | Ensar Oud / Oriscent", as probably some of you did too. I urge all of you = PLEASE TEST IT! Don’t buy it blind.

Everything I write is purely a personal perspective!

I hope I could give you a closer look at the fragrance...

And now, have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

One of the most wearable EO imo; Juniper, a bit sweet, rounded tobacco with fruity aspect and a nice salty and creamy ambergris. Must try !

Not for me... off-puting mango and overripe juniper, salty ambergris in the background.
