I bought the older version of the Do Son solid perfume as I happened by a Diptyque counter over 10 years ago. The packaging is beautiful and has a good amount of weight to it, like vintage solid perfume compacts.
The scent was a fine blend of some of my absolute favourite flowers like orange blossom and jasmine. I can't pick out the tuberose, but I find that a tricky one to pick out in fragrances because I haven't been around the actual plant very much.
The texture of the solid perfume is the right amount of hardness. It won't melt in typical Northern European climate. You have to have a warm finger, but don't need to rub or scratch the solid.
Back then, the price was only 30 Euro and I didn't like strong fragrances, so it was the perfect amount of scent, very intimate. I loved it! I had that thing for over a year and was gifted the EDP at some point in that year. And that, my friends, is how I started my Diptyque addiction.
I now have the new version of the solid perfume, after discovering the refills don't work for the old one. This compact is even more beautiful than the original one and the same quality of material. While I don't often use solid perfume anymore, it is perfect for travel.
