The Only One of Its Kind / A True Lone Fighter....
Hello everyone,
Today we are talking about "Kam Kyoryo (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," and this review might be a bit more detailed.
I chose this headline deliberately - why?
(Let me explain!)
Any fragrances from Ensar Oud (EO) often follow a similar pattern in terms of extremely high-quality ingredients, and there are preferred scent directions of the company. For example, Rose - Oud (and this combo in 27,000 versions), a musk-based fragrance, or scents that play with amber, or the "Tigerwood (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" + "Iris Ghalia (Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" line as their more well-known... and real exceptions and true outliers are found very, very rarely, and when they are, they are (unfortunately) very unknown and possibly overlooked.
At this point, the "Kam Kyoryo (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" comes into play, and the reason for my headline is him.
I am a big fan of cypress scents..., just as a side note.
In the many years I have been pursuing this hobby, I know of no fragrance that comes even close to this!
_________
How does it smell?
This is very difficult to describe clearly, as it is incredibly complex and transforms especially in the first hour continuously. It starts fresh - green - woody, mentholated, and balsamic at the same time. The first xx minutes are extremely to my liking (what I enjoy).
There is also a faint impression that perhaps 20% of the "Black Gris | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is present at the beginning, but without the incense note, and the "Kam Kyoryo (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is a bit tamer and more palatable.
In the following stages, you can notice the very well integrated light and delicate rose, but it operates more from the background.
The blue lotus is also always present; it always feels cooling, somewhat clean, and is quite delicately present, and in combination with the cypress and 1 or 2 other woody notes, it is very beautiful!
In the drydown, the typical EO woody oud notes emerge, with the oud used not being disturbing, harsh, or dirty!
What greatly benefits the "Kam Kyoryo (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is a certain maturation period! Because I had a sample of it about a year ago, and it did not have the intensity or roundness that my current bottle has.
Extremely many of the house's friends have less interest in such things, and the fragrance will, among other reasons, never receive the enthusiasm or recognition that rose - oud or musk fragrances get, and that is completely okay!
Regarding Sillage/ Longevity:
With a scent profile like this, I do not expect 12h+ and perhaps I do not even want it. But 8h are definitely achievable, probably more ;) .
Where and when?
From summer evenings until May, it is practically usable almost every day, and YOU will probably not be extremely annoying with it (untypical for EO), as it is also untypical for EO - ALMOST MASS-COMPATIBLE.
I personally am honestly super glad that I finally have it again and have given it a second chance.
If the opportunity arises - test it,
you probably won’t regret it!
On the topic of price:
In terms of pricing, I find it ultra modest to evaluate something like this, as the products offered by EO are practically in the ULTRA - High-end - Niche - Artisan - Luxury - League, and therefore I feel it is incredibly modest to actually say something in that regard. Yes, there are perfumes and oils with prices that some cars cost...., but everyone has to decide for themselves whether that is WORTH it or not - that’s how I see the topic!
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
