Work and vacation in liquid form
Oh, a fragrance without any back and forth, without any frills. A clear line; a common thread? Absolutely. However, the clear line is rather matt and the red thread consists more of brown tones. Light brown, dark brown, shiny streaks. That's a rough first impression.

The start catapults me into work. Work? Yes, actually, and it's not bad at all. More precisely, it catapults me into the "dust room". The tea room. I work passionately in a pharmacy. I often make Swedish herbs there. I weigh out 0.2g of saffron - the star of the recipe. Not just because of the price. Bright orange and dark red threads in the small, white tin. Once opened, this super characteristic fragrance unfolds. Everyone knows it. This is exactly how Cappadocia smells for about 2 minutes. Authentic, dry, cool saffron. Breathe, close your eyes. Collect impressions.
You can switch off briefly when making tea. Thanks to the different smells, it's a mini vacation for the mind. A short trip to Cappadocia? With pleasure. But then it's better to drink tea there instead of making it.
After this short saffron trip to the pharmacy, it's time for a vacation for the head, for the senses. What follows is a smooth symphony of soft, fluffy and buttery notes. I'm really addicted to this fantastic base. Vanilla and incense set the tone in my eyes. The two harmonize in perfect symbiosis. Accompanied by the most beautiful, creamy sandalwood. Cozy and sexy at the same time. A tribute to tranquillity, to enjoyment, to perception. To pause for a moment. I have rarely had such a calm and balanced fragrance under my nose. Everything is just right here. Nothing is too much and nothing is too little. I love it. It makes me relax and dream. I would like to visit this place, which was unknown to me until now. It feels a bit like I was there for a short time! I wish I had.

A small sentence about the longevity and sillage: this treasure easily lasts 8 or 9 hours on me and radiates a present but delicate fragrance. This is also just right for me.

A little anecdote at the end: I asked my husband "what do you think of when you hear Cappadocia?" He didn't even look at me and said "Cappuccino!"..... Well, we've sorted that out too!

Cappadocia, here I come!

Mr. Memo always made an effort...
... to fulfill the tasks assigned to him.

I really wanted to like it, even love it! The fragrance notes are right up my street - and Memo can do it! So... Actually.

Think again.

Unfortunately, it remains an uninspired fragrance soup that is not even mediocre. Diffuse sweetness that is so insignificant that I can't and don't even want to give it a name.

It sounds like the defiant retread of a rejected admirer, but some fragrances from the drugstore offer me more (see Vanilla Touch ) - and yes, unfortunately that's exactly what I mean.

Saffron AND frankincense without making me sick?
This is the first fragrance where I am not bothered by my nemesis saffron and incense.
That must really mean something, because I've never liked a fragrance with one of the two notes before, let alone two of them combined in one fragrance.

Kn: opens with a warm (saffron) spiciness, which makes me think of dunes and heat. Not unpleasant at all, but warming and fiery like a ray of sunshine. Although a completely different scent, it reminds me a little of Desert Rosewood, probably because of the benzoin? It's always warm and soft to my nose.

Heart: only less spicy and more buttery-fatty with subtle flowers in the background.
As a rose fan, I can't smell too much rose here, it just smells floral.

Later the fragrance becomes a little softer, no longer so "smell me smell me I am the saffron butterbenzo and I am hot!!!" but calms down a little and also loses silage.

I love myrrh and I perceive it as cold, although I have been told several times that it should be warm because it is a resin. Galbanum is also a resin but definitely cool and green to my nose, and I feel the same with myrrh, which is head-clearing, grounding and very cool.
This probably stands for the Capaddocia nights:)

Opens with a bright, orange sunrise, does not undergo a great transformation but becomes a little sweatier and more buttery, and is then soothed with myrrh.

I would recommend this fragrance to conflict-averse, perhaps more outgoing people, as fragrances that are at odds with our personalities can sometimes work wonders on our subconscious. The fragrance is very spirited, curious, demanding and warm,as much as a fragrance can be.

Oh yes and I hardly notice any incense (thank goodness), I hoped it would stay away and it does. Nice and well-behaved in the background

One saffron too far
Cappadocia by Gaël Montero attempts to capture the essence of Cappadocia with a blend of saffron, flowers and creamy woods, but ends up somewhere between trying and inspired. The combination of saffron with frankincense and myrrh offers an interesting note, but the overall composition doesn't quite seem to achieve what it promises - a solid perfume that neither completely disappoints nor deeply impresses. Despite the poetic promises of a journey through Cappadocia's mystical landscape, the creation proves to be nothing more than an indecisive saffron trip. Instead of taking us on an exotic journey, Cappadocia merely leaves us longing for authenticity.

Very unusual for me
I thank Parfumo for the opportunity to test this extraordinary fragrance.

When I first spray it on, I get a lot of saffron. But for some reason I have cool silver in my head and not the warm notes. The saffron is very dominant in the opening, but not intrusive, almost fresh I would say.

Then the fragrance becomes warmer, myrrh comes more to the fore. The woody notes also come into their own. I smell very little rose. The fragrance becomes rounder and sweeter, in drydown it becomes almost chocolaty for me.

The fragrance lasts about 4-5 hours on me and becomes very subtle but persistent towards the end. However, this should not be judged - for me, even the strongest fragrances only last 5-6 hours at best, while the others last 8-10 hours.

In any case, it is a very interesting fragrance that radiates coziness and serenity, especially now in the rainy and stormy weather, and somehow gives a bit of a home feeling.

Screechy synthetic saffron with a creamy-oriental feel. Subpar blending, a poor man's Initio: like Side Effect mixed with Crystal Saffron.
