Lovely gourmand blend - citrus, sweet, creamy, tart, fresh

22 Shades of Dolce Solaris is a Dua tribrid (inspired by a blend of Le Labo Bergamote 22 as well as Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo & Acqua Viva), still the only tribrid that I own to this day, so clearly my favorite, and one of my favorite releases of 2020. It’s a fittingly fresh, sweet, tart, and slightly creamy blend of citruses and vanilla, primarily, capturing some of the extremes but landing in an interesting middle space. And with great performance, it’s a great option for gourmand lovers, and a fragrance that I like to wear when I want something to perform well in the heat, though I’m sure the vanilla might be overwhelming for some on a hot day. Among the three inspirations that contribute, I’d say that Dulcis in Fundo is most prominent, balancing out the relative tartness of Bergamote 22 and Acqua Viva, but the result is very balance in terms of sweet vs. tart, with some of the creaminess of Dulcis in Fundo being part of the mix, as well.

Summer Vacation

Ah, summer vacation!
1964 in Timmendorf on the Baltic Sea.
It was hot, and the sand burned under my feet.
And I was allowed to buy an ice cream!
That was something special.
I was handed forty pfennigs.
On the blazing hot promenade, I walked to the white wooden stall.
A Langnese flag announced the delights!
'Split'
Golden yellow, lemony-orange ice on the outside, with a creamy vanilla core in the middle!
Sharp and fizzy on the tongue with the first bite!
Pure refreshment!
And softened by the gentle vanilla notes.
Oh, how wonderful that was!
Unforgettable!

Really, this delicious gourmand fragrance not only offers you enjoyment but also allows those of you who are older to take a delightful journey back in time!

Buttermilk Lemon Ice

Thank you very much for the recommendations in the forum. I had asked for a scent that smells like buttermilk lemon ice from my childhood.
This fragrance here is the mentioned ice cream in liquid form.

It hardly develops - at least on my skin.

From the very beginning, it is a balanced blend of:
- zesty lemon (fruity without being sharp or smelling like "toilet cleaner")
- ripe grapefruit (which brings a bit of bitterness to keep the scent from becoming too heavy)
- vanilla (sweet but not cloyingly sweet. By no means heavy-oriental)
- sandalwood (together with the vanilla, it creates the cone of the ice cream)

Projection: Surprisingly strong for a citrus scent. It doesn't smell out of this world, but it is definitely noticeable to those around me -> my husband's comment: Wow, did you eat ice cream in the city? You smell so good like vanilla-lemon ice cream!

Longevity: Solid. Projects for about 2.5 hours. Right up close to the wrist, I can still smell it after 5 hours. After that, the fruitiness of the lemon fades, and only the cone remains. But still not heavy-sweet-wanting-to-wash-off, rather vanilla-soft-subtle.

Additional note: For me, it is NOT a scent twin to "Dulcis in Fundo." Dulcis in Fundo is much more vanilla-forward, with less of the refreshing, yogurt-like lemon. Dulcis in Fundo is the adult, big sister of this buttermilk lemon ice. If we want to stick to food comparisons, this one is the ice cream, while Dulcis in Fundo is the freshly baked cheesecake with a lot of real, soft, high-quality vanilla in it.
