Ballermann-Caipi
First of all, I must say that I was unfortunately a bit disappointed. I was really looking forward to DUA and especially this fragrance. It was my first time ordering from DUA. I love summer scents and coconut, which is why I was already dreaming when I saw the fragrance pyramid.
The scent:
To put it briefly, you get what you expect from the fragrance pyramid. Rum, lime, and coconut. And more than enough of everything. I perceive the scent as relatively linear, which I don't find bad at all. The individual components feel quite balanced to me, but the scent itself is way too strong for my liking. During my first testing, I applied 2 sprays on my neck and one on my t-shirt. The scent was so penetrating in my nose that I quickly got used to it. On clothing, 1 spray lasts easily 4-5 days, so you can still perceive it clearly then. Unfortunately, the scent doesn't feel natural enough to me; something bothers me constantly. It could also be that the rum note smells too "cheap." Unfortunately, it reminds me less of a sunset in the Maldives and more of a drunken night at Ballermann. I think there are still some people who will have a lot of fun with this scent. My experience with DUA is unfortunately not as good as I had hoped, as all three fragrances felt somewhat artificial to me.
So for me, it's not blind-buy worthy; better to first seek a sample, especially considering the shipping from the USA and potential customs fees.
Anyone looking for a solid summer scent and approaching it with not too high expectations (caution: DUA is, in my opinion, overly hyped) will certainly not be poorly advised with Caribbean Waters. Especially in summer at a party, the scent will definitely be well received. Not recommended for work or formal occasions.
Longevity and sillage are top as described above. Especially for a summer scent. Personally, it's already too much for me. With 2 to a maximum of 3 sprays, you are well advised.
I find the bottle and packaging not appealing at all.
Price/performance is so-so for me. Considering the power, you do get something for your money, but my expectations for the scent were unfortunately not met.
I cannot make a comparison to the original, as I have never smelled it.
