Gentle Amber Warmth with Smoky Charm…
I have had "Amber Who Is Blonde! | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances" sitting here for ages, but I couldn't review it for a long time because Parfumo simply didn't release the fragrance.
And to be honest: Getting the fragrance was a bit of an odyssey. I had to order it through a perfume house in London, which in turn got it from the USA. Two months of waiting until the bottle finally arrived - I almost grew a few gray hairs. But hey, now it's here, and the bottle hasn't just spent time as decoration; I've actually worn it quite a bit.
Right from the first spray, it's clear: This is not a run-of-the-mill fragrance twin to "XXI: Art Deco - Blonde Amber | Clive Christian," but a standalone, confident interpretation in the typical Dua style.
The opening is zesty and spicy - fresh with bergamot and a fine spiciness. For me personally, the note of dried fruits comes through strongly, giving the fragrance a lovely depth.
The base is pure amber delight: warm, soft, and pleasant with sandalwood and vanilla - not too heavy, but elegant and almost "golden."
Now for the but: Either I become quite nose-blind to this fragrance quickly, or it simply doesn't develop as strongly on me as it does on others. I often don't perceive it on myself for long, while I can only read about the longevity and sillage from other users. Maybe it's me, maybe it's the fragrance - but I still really like it. It clings to clothes like it does for everyone else for ages!
For me, this is a really good-priced alternative to the original.
A clear autumn/winter candidate with elegant warmth. Anyone who loves amber or the original should definitely give it a try.
