Wonderful Scent
Dua’s Amber is a wonderful scent of the kind that makes you want to "constantly sniff your wrist."
In the opening, Ylang-Ylang stands out over sweetly ambered wood, with Myrrh and Vanilla. The combination immediately creates a well-rounded experience. It’s wearable! Over time, the resinous-woody notes become more pronounced, while a subtle floral hint along with creamy vanilla always adds a touch of sweetness.

What I particularly like about this scent is that I can perceive it constantly myself, without becoming nose-blind, and I enjoy it very much at all times. In a blind test, I would have attributed the scent to the DNA and perceived, balanced complexity of the "Amouage" men’s fragrances, without being able to specify which one exactly. This means, on one hand, that the overall quality is right, and on the other hand, that I perceive the scent as rather masculine and mature due to the woods.

If I had to deduce a person from the scent, I envision a sporty, dynamic man in elegant casual or business attire. Whether for a business meeting, a meal, shopping, or an evening out. The scent somehow commands respect and exudes a certain refined coziness through its woody warmth. It would be the perfect choice for a contract signing! Dua’s Amber is definitely a distinctive scent that lasts for hours. With always noticeable sillage and presence, yet subtle enough not to overwhelm others. Fits!

Although I could be labeled a Xerjoff fan, I am not familiar with the fragrance "Amber Star | XerJoff"! The purchase was too costly for me in this case, because I already knew the white "Star Musk | XerJoff" and it didn’t really excite me as a separate fragrance. Iris is unfortunately not my thing, I thought… but then I layered Dua’s Amber with Star Musk for testing and was quite surprised at how well the two scents harmonize and complement each other. How noble and exquisite this combination smells! Layered this way, I would also find the scent very appealing on a woman. If Amber Star really smells similar to Dua’s Amber, then I can now very well understand the idea behind the "Xerjoff Shooting Stars Amber Star/Star Musk" package.

Creaky Log Cabin
First of all, "Dua's Amber | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances" actually bears a strong resemblance to "Amber Star | XerJoff". I particularly noticed this when I tested them back to back. However, there are some significant differences that make "Amber Star | XerJoff" smell distinctly better to me.

"Dua's Amber | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances" starts off very woody. And by "very woody," I really mean so woody that you can picture an old, creaky log cabin in your mind. This scent is so strong that I really didn't enjoy it on my skin. At the same time, I wanted to know if there was a development and whether this potential development could perhaps improve the fragrance a bit. And the development did come, but it came very late. Primarily, "Dua's Amber | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances" became sweeter over time and eventually, after hours, reached a point where the sweetness almost harmonized with the exaggerated woodiness, but even then, it was only almost.
I still find it interesting how differently the Dua fragrances, especially this one, are perceived by people here.
However, I find it unpleasant overall. The difference from "Amber Star | XerJoff" really lies in the dosage of sweetness, and the woodiness is not quite as strong. This has created a much more harmonious scent.

As I said, it might smell completely different on other people, but as it smells on me, it is extremely masculine and very heavy, definitely made for colder temperatures.

Longevity and sillage are good, but they don't quite reach "Amber Star | XerJoff". The price is reasonable, though. When calculated for 100 ml, maybe not so much, but the bottle size from Dua is still quite acceptable.

Since some here describe that they like it as a dupe and that it comes very close to "Amber Star | XerJoff", I still recommend trying it out if possible, especially if you are specifically looking for an "Amber Star | XerJoff" dupe.

My first Dua...
First of all: This is my first review, so I ask for your understanding :)

The Dua Brand is known to divide opinions, but I am very interested in this brand as they release a lot of high-quality fragrances in what I consider more reasonable sizes at lower prices.

So let's start with the bottle: 30ml is a completely sufficient size, at least if you use other perfumes as well. The design is kept very simple (and probably also cheap), I can only say about the bottle: nothing special, it just serves its purpose.

However, the scent itself is much more important here. I must admit that I do not know the original and therefore cannot say how close it is to the Xerjoff model, so I consider the scent here as a standalone. The opening is very strong and certainly not to everyone's taste, but I would not let that discourage me. Immediately, you perceive a smoky-sweet wood, combined with a very light vanilla that stays in the background. Over time, this sweet wood disappears, the vanilla pushes strongly to the forefront, and the smoke remains, but slightly weakens, resulting in a slightly smoky vanilla with a sweetness that is so far unfathomable to me, in a combination that I really like, but certainly not everyone’s nose.

Now let's get to longevity and sillage. The longevity is fantastic, at least 8 hours with 3 sprays is quite impressive, I have not experienced anything like this before, my other fragrances cannot compete. The sillage is also very good; my friends said that with every movement of mine, a wave of scent washes over them (fortunately, they liked the scent, otherwise it would have been a strange evening), and I also received comments from the other side of the room that the scent was noticeable there as well, which also speaks for the sillage.

So let's conclude: I am an absolute fan of this scent, so if there is a chance that there will be decants available at the Souk again, I can only say: Get one. The biggest problem here is that this scent was a limited edition; when I inquired with Dua, they said that it might be available again in the future. The generally biggest problem I see with Dua fragrances is that they are not yet directly distributed in the EU, so one should prepare for customs. In conclusion, I can only say: A very beautiful scent that I will definitely buy again if the opportunity arises, as long as I need it.

it gets better and I really like the sandy, resinous base.

Amber Star can't hold a candle to it. Instead of my enveloping cashmere scarf, I get woody, creaky, pronounced synthetic. Nope.

More fragrance twin is not possible. Soft, not overly sweet, slightly smoky. Longevity 10-12 hours. Bravo and thank you Dua!

When an Amber Star burns out,
it probably smells like this:
Delicately resinous in the supernova,
a little smoke is also present,
before it heads into nirvana.

A beautiful, woody amber scent without amber. After an initially unremarkable start, vanilla, benzoin + opoponax push forward over the sandalwood.
