Sunbeams over Polished Wood

Abjar Bois smells like stepping into a room made of warm wood and leather, while outside the sun slowly sets.
Nothing flashy, nothing loud.. more like the moment when you sit in a luxury car, the door lock clicks, and you just know: something good is about to begin.
It smells golden brown, of calm, class but also of strength that doesn’t need to be shown.
A bit of spice, a bit of fresh air, a lot of depth.
Not old, not modern but simply timeless. For me, this is not a fragrance you wear to be seen, but one you wear when you already know who you are.

ABJAR BOIS I The horse leaves the deserts and heads towards green forests & meadows...

The Abjar Bois was a tremendous surprise for me personally among all the Attar Collection fragrances that were just released for the 2nd Gens. Why? Well, anyone who knows the Abjar knows that it is very powerful, leathery, simply magnificent. With "Abjar Bois | The Spirit of Dubai," Spirit of Dubai surprised everyone. Why?

Let's get into it; Abjar Bois:

- I imagine the majestic horse of Abjar leaving the desert regions and heading towards green meadows, waterfalls, and dense forests.

- Now the fragrance has an extremely revitalizing opening. A lively, zesty note of grapefruit, mandarin, and lemon opens the game. But anyone who thinks it’s "pure citrus" is mistaken, because this beautiful citrus is accompanied by a subtle spiciness and light sharpness that elevates the entire opening. Here, you can also subtly smell ginger and nutmeg. Beautiful, simply sparkling refreshing, but by no means "simple," rather with a slight oriental touch.

- After that, Abjar Bois drifts into a lightly floral-woody direction, a light rose mixed with delicate lavender on soft cashmere wood. Simply fantastic. Slowly, a subtle leather note emerges in the background, and yes, a certain, marginal "airy" smokiness appears, giving the fragrance a certain depth despite its fresh character.

- In the drydown, the fragrance then transitions into a beautiful woody base; sandalwood and cedarwood lay this lovely woody foundation. The oud is hardly noticeable, but when it is, it subtly brings in that dark, slightly earthy quality along with the patchouli, which is balanced out by the patchouli. The fragrance is enveloped by a marginal ambered musk cloud. Simply top; and yes, the fragrance never really turns dark, because it keeps its promise of a "fresher take" on Abjar!

- The longevity is really good for a freshie, definitely in the upper third. The projection is very good in the first hours, then it becomes more skin-close, but this is quite normal due to its fresh character. For me, the performance fits.

The Abjar Bois is a truly successful release that is suitable for everyday wear but completely relies on the strengths of the brand; namely complexity and depth! Despite its fresh character, there is a beautiful progression. The freshness of nature is captured, the rugged elegance of cedarwood, the slightly smoky character of guaiac wood, and also the creamy nuance from the sandalwood with the slight earthiness of patchouli, complemented by leathery accords.
