is that REALLY pistachio?
Some time ago I started my search for a good pistachio fragrance. I had tested the 2 Moonlight Whisper and Moonlight Whisper Intense at Zara and as much as I loved them for the first few seconds, I quickly found something annoying. Was it the incredibly sticky sweetness? Was it the intrusiveness and the artificial note? Was it the feeling of not smelling pistachio, but a children's chocolate candy? However, as both fragrances kept me going, I was delighted to be able to take part in a sharing of this fragrance.
But unfortunately I was also disillusioned here. Unfortunately, I like both Zara fragrances better. I now see the sweetness more as an advantage, because what I perceive here is a similar smell that is not nutty for me, which reminds me more of milk cream and children's chocolate instead of a pistachio paste. And so I wish that the sticky sweetness was over here too, because unfortunately I only really notice the pistachio very delicately when I smell it very, very close to my wrist. Any unintentional swiff is then more the milk cream, which repels me more... (and which I unfortunately also noticed more discreetly in the Zara fragrances, as I realize in retrospect, but couldn't put into words at the time.)
... so maybe that's what others imagine "pistachio" to be... and maybe my search for a pistachio scent ends here. Perhaps I have created a utopia under the term "pistachio" that only exists in my head.
