Great opening, but that’s it

The first 30-60 seconds are great - it’s a nice roasted pistachio smell, like the filling of a pistachio pastry. The pistachio then fades to the background, never to return, and this fragrance begins to smell like soap and Raid bug spray. I have a phobia of flying insects, so this smell reminds me of them and gives me anxiety. That lasts for about 10 minutes before fading slightly to the background, allowing the condensed milk to take center stage. It’s not a very sweet condensed milk, which I almost liked, but then it starts to smell like mac n cheese. At this point, the fragrance smells like cheesy bug spray and soap and it remains that way for hours. The pistachio is long gone. This smell is like the aftermath of defending yourself from a wasp attack while trying to enjoy a pistachio pastry. You’re in a cloud of Raid bug spray, your ruined pastry tastes like Raid and cheese now, and you’re surrounded by dead or dying insects, the consequences of the chemical warfare you just engaged in. Great opening though.

Pistachio milk for every day

Pistachio is one of my favorite notes, so I'm always happy to try new pistachio fragrances.

This one starts out with a very nutty and sweet pistachio note. It also makes me think of almonds and amarettini biscuits. Very scrumptious!

After a short while, the pistachio calms down and vanilla and condensed milk come in. Please don't expect an extremely literal condensed milk note, this is more of a general sweet milkiness than a photorealistic impression. I actually like this about the scent, because this way, it doesn't turn turn heavy. It's a light pistachio scent that has a bit of freshness in its base, so it can be worn on many occasions, even if you don't feel like putting on a heavy-hitting gourmand. It could be my imagination, but I think there is an unlisted note here that has a slightly floral, creamy effect. And don't worry, the pistachio never leaves completely, it just becomes less and less in-your-face over the time.

To me, this is not particularly similar to Kayali's Pistachio Gelato, which is more complex and perfumey and has lots of notes I don't get here at all.

I can imagine that this isn't edible enough for some gourmand fans and too edible for some other perfume lovers. But to me, it sits at a perfect middle point in between. Defined, noticeable pistachio that doesn't overstay its welcome and melts into a milky skin scent.

perfectly nutty

the perfect pistachio. After having smelled a ton of other pistachio scents, this is the closest iteration of it in a gourmand sense. It's not overly sweet, or powdery, or lacking in nuttiness. It doesn't evoke a pistachio latte per se but it does smell like a richly roasted and heavily nutty pistachio wafer. You do get the milky facets of the scent but further into the wear, and then does it become a more warm and nutty pistachio milk scent. The opening and mid wear of the scent is gorgeously, deep, rich, and very nutty. The nutty facets of pistachio are what are constantly missing from other pistachio fragrances, but this scent nails it.

Realistic

SO realistic! This house does a great job at making very realistic scents. Pistachio Latte gives you a nutty, creamy combo - exactly as named. Might layer well with SDJ 62. Not a big pistachio lover or wearer but enjoyed trying this house. Lasts 3 seconds so longevity is not there, on my skin at least. A fun perfume to own or try, especially if you're trying to build a "drinks" scents collection.

No, it smells nothing like Kayali YPG - personally YPG is more wearable for me as someone who doesn't like pistachio that much.

Nice creamy, sharp, nutty gourmand, fairly agreeable

Sampling Theodoros Kalotinis Pistachio Latte, a 2024 release and one of the house’s several very deliberate gourmand offerings, a creamy, dusty, nutty blend with a modest suggestion of coffee, fittingly a latte that’s sweet and agreeable. It’s not the most striking version of this type of fragrance but nicely incorporates a sort of pistachio/almond sharpness along side a sweet creamy latte composition. It’s very pleasant and likely an easy winner for gourmand lovers.

As with most of the line, its concentration is EDP, priced at a very reasonable $55 for 50ml and sold via Luckyscent in the US.
