Photorealistic Chocolate!

Like all the gourmands of Theodoros Kalotinis is very very realistic. The opening is pure chocolate, it is straight up the smell of a high-quality chocolate bar, and after the dry down the tonka beans are also very very prevalent.

I would say that there is quite a change with time, and I can see people enjoy one scent over the other, but personally, I like both of them. I like a good realistic gourmand and I am a huge musk lover, and the creaminess of the vanilla along with the spicy, velvety tonka beans give it a sweet powdery, almost musky feeling, that I am a fan of.

Well-balanced chocolate fragrance, easy to wear

Sampling Theodoros Kalotinis Velvet Chocolate, a 2022 release and smooth, not overly sweet, a bit dry chocolate blend, a bit of cocoa powder and a bit of tootsie roll, confection-adjacent while not being as sugary. Definitely a good mix of sumptuous, interesting, and not being too intense in any one particular way, a perfume that I think gourmand lovers should welcome.

As with much of the line, this is EDP concentration and very reasonably priced at $55 for 50ml, sold in the US exclusively via Luckyscent, as best I know. It performs reasonably well and the value and quality are both quite high, particularly considering the very modest pricing.

Chocolate shampoo

I can't lie this smells EXACTLY like a shampoo I had as a kid, Palmolive Chocolate passion. Smells exactly like it.

Don't expect from this a silky, bitter hot chocolate, this is more of a cocoa powder and whipped cream thing, also smells like a shampoo lol, not bad just not REALLY a gourmand.

If you're looking for a photorealistic chocolate scent, this ain't it. But at the price point it ain't bad!

Chocolate lip balm

I wanted to like this as much as I enjoy TK's other gourmands, but this went the way of Pear Gelato for me unfortunately.

At first spray, it's definitely chocolate flavored but it comes off as too artificial and photorealistic as their other scents. It has a waxy, lipstick-y quality that heavily reminds me of the Hershey chocolate-flavored lip balms I used to get as a kid. Not necessarily "bad" smelling, but not what I want a chocolate perfume to smell like either.

Due to its more simple profile, this scent doesn't evolve much. However, a slight play-doh quality came in after about an hour, then faded the next and finally returned at about the five-hour mark. It was strange in that it was more than just waxy; it felt almost doughy and a tiny bit gritty when this aspect emerged. This lasted on me for about eight hours.

Overall, I was disappointed in this. The only other TK gourmand that I've had this negative experience with is Pear Gelato. So, by all means, if you loved Pear Gelato and are looking for a chocolate scent, try this. But, if you found it to be a bit too artificial smelling like me, you may want to find something else.

Synthetic chocolate mess

I was so hyped buying this perfume after doing my own little chocolate collection, well, this was the most disappointing "CHOCOLATE" perfume ever existing.

This perfume smells hella synthetic and artificial… It should be renamed as Plastic chocolate.I now understand better why It’s cheap… but still, I had high expectations reading the comments.

This perfume is nauseous, and I love chocolate perfumes so much, but this one is just a pure mess. Super synthetic chocolate and it fades into a honey scent, like why is it so weird
??
So.. for the price, is it still worth it? I don’t think so. Not every cheap things have to be bought...
