40 Noeuds: The fragrance of a luxurious boutique - Unique and unmistakable
First of all, I would like to mention right at the beginning that for me personally, "40 Nœuds | XerJoff" has nothing in common with the fragrance "40 Knots | XerJoff".
For me, this one rather embodies the feeling of entering a luxurious boutique.
This special/luxurious vibe is unmistakable and immediately reminds me of my first visit to a Cartier store when I first saw my dream watch, a Cartier Santos.
I smelled exactly THAT fragrance there and had been searching for it for a long time ever since: UNTIL the time came and a friend got it for me (blind) from the XJ boutique in Frankfurt because he happened to be nearby.

Why blind, you ask?
because "40 Nœuds | XerJoff" is an exclusive boutique fragrance that is only available in XJ stores. As a collector, it was all the more appealing to me - to add it to my collection.
And luckily I did...

What makes the fragrance so special is its continuous, sparkling champagne note, which at the same time exudes a subtle "sparkle". This sparkling freshness could be associated with Azzurro, for example. This impression is accompanied by an intense yet constant rose note that reminds me of fragrances such as Roses Musk Eau de Parfum or Arabians Tonka. I would even go so far as to say that it could well fit into Montale's repertoire, as the characteristic DNA is clearly noticeable - but whether that is a positive or negative thing is of course in the eye of the beholder. For me rather positive.

In summary, what you get here is a distinctive fragrance composed of a mixture of champagne, roses and floral elements. In a fragrance comparison, it could be described as a combination of Azzurro, a typical fruity/rose Montale fragrance and "Accento Overdose | XerJoff". And as already mentioned, I can't recognize any similarities to "40 Knots | XerJoff" - neither the maritime notes, nor the woods or the honey are present for me.
Perhaps with a lot of imagination, but even that would be difficult to create.
in any case, "40 Nœuds | XerJoff" stands on its own and the similarity in name to "40 Knots | XerJoff" tends to cause confusion in my opinion.

The performance here is TOP and can again be compared with fragrances from the V collection, e.g. an "Accento | XerJoff". Means here too, several days after spraying, you will still be able to perceive the fragrance somehow - on your clothes anyway, for days, if not weeks.

Absolutely recommendable: even has the potential to become a signature fragrance for me!
100% unisex.

Fresh grapefruit & creamy coconut: the seductive aura of Cococaine.
Marc Gebauer & the guys from Olakala have really surprised us with their collaboration!
With "Cococaine | Marc Gebauer", the men have created a remarkable fragrance that uniquely combines both fresh and exotic elements:

Let's begin...
The opening is defined by a beautiful vibrant grapefruit note that leaves a tangy & citrusy first impression.
However, this citrusy freshness does not remain alone in the spotlight for long, as it is quickly joined by a soft, creamy coconut that lends the fragrance an exotic, almost tropical warmth.
However, this coconut is by no means obtrusively sweet or penetrating, but remains elegant & actually quite well balanced.
Personally, this type of coconut reminds me very slightly of "Casamorati - Quattro Pizzi | XerJoff", but at its core it remains undoubtedly independent.

After a short while, musk also asserts itself in the composition.
This note gives the fragrance depth and a subtle sensuality without being overpowering.
In its entirety, the fragrance also has associations with tanning/sun cream, which makes it an excellent summer companion (e.g. by the sea).
The floral accents, especially tuberose & jasmine, also add a floral, slightly powdery dimension that adds sophistication.
This floral interplay even reminds me a little of one of my favorite Gebauer fragrances, Amorist.

As far as longevity is concerned, the fragrance is totally fine on my skin. Especially in the first few hours, a pleasant sillage unfolds, but it remains subtle enough not to be intrusive in everyday life (e.g. in the office).
An interesting comparison can be made here with Marzocco Extrait de Parfum. Both fragrances share the characteristic of an independent and at the same time unmistakable DNA that is subtle yet powerful. Both also shine with the aforementioned "restrained elegance" and ability to attract attention without being loud - the Marzocco Extrait de Parfum in a sparkling/soft way, while "Cococaine | Marc Gebauer" with creamy coconut and floral freshness creates a more relaxed yet luxurious atmosphere - without wanting to be a "beast" in the H/S.

The versatility is particularly worth mentioning here.
The fragrance can easily be worn all year round, but in my opinion it shows its true strength in summer or in warm/hot temperatures and unfolds its floral/sweet accents particularly beautifully.

The bottle itself has a simple design, with a solid spray head and a practical magnetic cap that round off the elegant overall look.
I would definitely think it would be cool if this magnetic cap could be found on each of Marc's future fragrances. However, as this is probably only a limited edition of the bottle, which will be replaced by the usual bottle with the next edition (current batch sold out - new quantities - to follow next year), this is rather unlikely. But what is not, may yet be!

To sum up, I can say that I think "Cococaine | Marc Gebauer" by Marc Gebauer & Olakala is a successful release and would recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of fresh citrus notes/exotic coconut and floral elegance.
For me, this is 100% a unisex crowd pleaser that works perfectly both in everyday life and on special occasions thanks to its gentle but powerful composition, without causing headaches (for yourself or others) and can and will definitely attract compliments.

An olfactory masterpiece for lovers of sweet, gourmand fragrances.
What do you get here?
Definitely something nice for gourmand lovers and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in a sweet, delicious cloud of hazelnuts/almonds and vanilla.

The fragrance unfolds with an impressive presence of creamy vanilla/ caramel that immediately evokes fresh desserts & warm baked goods - almost like biting into a delicious vanilla cookie or a freshly glazed éclair.
The combination of vanilla milk, slightly caramelly sweetness and a hint of honey underline a beguiling depth, but without being too heavy/overwhelming or sticky.
The subtle presence of jasmine also lends the fragrance a very light freshness.
Don't worry, the desired gourmand character is not suppressed or lost in the process.

What particularly catches the eye is the actual harmony of the many "gourmand notes", because although Vanilla Haze is intensely sweet, it remains beautifully balanced.
At the same time, it retains its warm and cozy aura, which is perfect for cold days.
At the same time, however, it remains multi-faceted and airy enough to cut a fine figure in spring too.

Another plus point is the great longevity: the fragrance remains on the skin even after hours. The sillage is also impressive and - for me - just the right amount to fill a room with an inviting, caramelly veil without being overpowering.

Who is it for?
Definitely for ALL (unisex) sweet tooths and anyone who feels comfortable in a vanilla-caramel veil, this is 100% a bull's eye.
By and large, however, for those who love sweet, edible auras/notes, such as Eclaire or Bianco Latte.
However, if you are looking for darker, smoky or spicy nuances, you will not find them here.

For me, this Fugazzi here would be a perfect addition to my collection;
A dessert dream that simply puts you in a good mood and delights with its creamy, vanilla sweetness.

Saffron: the symphony of fragrances from Cappadocia
ATTENTION: Saffron lovers beware!!!
Because this fragrance really takes you on a fascinating journey to Cappadocia, which is dominated by saffron.

The first spray immediately reveals a rich blend that enchants the senses with warm, very sweet saffron and balsamic benzoin. The beautifully delicate vanilla and creamy iris butter give the fragrance a sensual & relaxing note.

The aromas are enhanced by the delicate rose and soothing incense - which is only very slightly perceptible in the backround - which soften the heaviness of the saffron and give the fragrance a rather airier, fresher note.
The presence of sandalwood and jasmine creates a harmonious balance between warmth and freshness.
There is a slight similarity to "Le Vestiaire - Babycat | Yves Saint Laurent", although the smokiness and leather accord are missing here. In my opinion, the Cappadocia is also "much more pleasing & down", which is of course just my personal opinion.

In addition to the longevity, which lasts a really long time on my skin, the sillage/projection is gently inviting without really being overpowering. At the same time, the fragrance cloud conveys a subtle yet powerful composition that conveys really beautiful elegance, making it an ideal companion for everyday life (e.g. in the office) & special occasions (e.g. restaurant/ evening fragrance). But what I also find remarkable/worth mentioning is that this fragrance can be used at any time of the year or "works" really well because it is not so penetrating/stinging.

Overall, I find "Cappadocia" to be an exceptional fragrance that may not be to everyone's taste but is definitely worth a trip for those who are looking for an olfactory experience and are also saffron lovers. In any case, the creation is a testament to refined craftsmanship, which I feel is 100% unisex.

From orange to purple iris: a comparison between orange and purple flamingo.
Starting with strong iris notes, a fresh, floral scent of all Accento Overdose and fresh laundry - the Purple Flamingo knocks you right off your feet. Like this. Period.
So really, you notice this intensity/ this POWER straight away. The clearly noticeable iris unites the entire base with (slightly) woody notes, musk and a lot of "powderiness" to create a harmonious overall picture.

Orange Flamingo, on the other hand, impresses with its fresh and clean notes, which begin directly with an explosion of oranges. The combination of jasmine and lily of the valley dominate together with (slightly) woody accords before the fragrance transitions into a musk-based drydown. In contrast to the powdery Purple Flamingo, however, the Orange Flamingo is fresh and soapy clean with a characteristic "fresh wash" character.

For me/my nose, the Purple Flamingo is more intense/noble than its predecessor...
This is most likely due to the iris, which dominates the fragrance for a few minutes, similar to Irisss by Xerjoff. So if you know that fragrance, you'll know roughly what direction it's going in here...

Despite its highly concentrated formulation, the fragrance is still pleasant and envelops you all day long with its soothing freshie vibe.
The longevity leaves nothing to be desired and the projection is extremely strong, filling the room.
I would even say Beastmode.
!! BUT that is definitely the case with BOTH fragrances !!!
Even on skin types where fragrances don't last long, the longevity of Purple Flamingo is particularly impressive. Once applied in the morning, it stays with you into the evening or even for several days afterwards.
The extremely strong sillage and long-lasting durability also make this an ideal choice - for anyone looking for long-lasting fragrances.

No matter the occasion or time of day - both fragrances are perfect all-rounders.
In my opinion, more for spring and summer, as the heart notes of iris, rose, jasmine, lily of the valley and violet exude a harmonious sensuality that is simply made for these seasons.

On the whole, Purple Flamingo is a luxurious and higher quality alternative to the fresher Orange Flamingo. If you are looking for a long-lasting & intense fragrance, Purple Flamingo will be just right. The fragrance is an absolute must-have, especially for lovers of iris and orange notes as well as powdery freshness. But of course also for collectors due to its exclusivity.

If you are NOT into iris, you should definitely test the fragrance beforehand or go straight for the normal Orange Flamingo!
Please note: With a price of €279.00, the purple one is €79.00 more expensive than its predecessor due to its exclusivity and high-quality ingredients. So if you are not from near Düsseldorf or cannot test it in the store - I would definitely recommend ordering a bottle from the Souk.

In the end, you can simply say that Christian Carbonnel has done another great job here and created a fragrance that can be worn 100% by both women and men.
