40 Noeuds: The fragrance of a luxurious boutique - Unique and unmistakable
First of all, I would like to mention right at the beginning that for me personally, "40 Nœuds | XerJoff" has nothing in common with the fragrance "40 Knots | XerJoff".
For me, this one rather embodies the feeling of entering a luxurious boutique.
This special/luxurious vibe is unmistakable and immediately reminds me of my first visit to a Cartier store when I first saw my dream watch, a Cartier Santos.
I smelled exactly THAT fragrance there and had been searching for it for a long time ever since: UNTIL the time came and a friend got it for me (blind) from the XJ boutique in Frankfurt because he happened to be nearby.
Why blind, you ask?
because "40 Nœuds | XerJoff" is an exclusive boutique fragrance that is only available in XJ stores. As a collector, it was all the more appealing to me - to add it to my collection.
And luckily I did...
What makes the fragrance so special is its continuous, sparkling champagne note, which at the same time exudes a subtle "sparkle". This sparkling freshness could be associated with Azzurro, for example. This impression is accompanied by an intense yet constant rose note that reminds me of fragrances such as Roses Musk Eau de Parfum or Arabians Tonka. I would even go so far as to say that it could well fit into Montale's repertoire, as the characteristic DNA is clearly noticeable - but whether that is a positive or negative thing is of course in the eye of the beholder. For me rather positive.
In summary, what you get here is a distinctive fragrance composed of a mixture of champagne, roses and floral elements. In a fragrance comparison, it could be described as a combination of Azzurro, a typical fruity/rose Montale fragrance and "Accento Overdose | XerJoff". And as already mentioned, I can't recognize any similarities to "40 Knots | XerJoff" - neither the maritime notes, nor the woods or the honey are present for me.
Perhaps with a lot of imagination, but even that would be difficult to create.
in any case, "40 Nœuds | XerJoff" stands on its own and the similarity in name to "40 Knots | XerJoff" tends to cause confusion in my opinion.
The performance here is TOP and can again be compared with fragrances from the V collection, e.g. an "Accento | XerJoff". Means here too, several days after spraying, you will still be able to perceive the fragrance somehow - on your clothes anyway, for days, if not weeks.
Absolutely recommendable: even has the potential to become a signature fragrance for me!
100% unisex.
