Does that sound contradictory? I want to smell like a 1950`s sexy secretary to the CEO, but a modern interpretation of that. No N°5 Parfum for me, thank you! Powder notes are okay, but nothing dusty and suffocating like Quelques Fleurs Jardin Secret Eau de Parfum Extrême . Animalic notes are okay, too, within reason. Thanks!

Nicolai. Especially Musc Intense

La Panthère Eau de Parfum is exactly that, a modern take on vintage chypres, and it's really gorgeous; tailored, sophisticated, warm and radiant. The edt is also beautiful, as well as the parfum if you want it even richer and more sumptuous...quite animalic actually (it reminds me of vintage Femme (1945) Eau de Cologne which is the quintessential classic 50s tailored vamp, and definitely not for anyone looking for modern!)

Nomade Eau de Parfum is another new and very good take on vintage which would be quite appropriate in a flirty office setting, lol.

Coco Eau de Parfum maybe? Or Dolce & Gabbana (1992) Eau de Toilette. The latter is mentioned in the similar section as being similar to Chanel 5, but that doesn't make sense in my opinion.

I`m not a huge fan of Chanel, but that D&G sounds interesting, although it is a vintage perfume. I`m more curious about something contemporary that reinterprets the vintage vibe.

I often describe Au Delà - Narcisse as classic and modern. It’s a white floral chypre—so vintage structure—but the notes are balanced in such a way that I find it to be more “modern” to my nose. And jfc is it beautiful. I cherish my bottle.

Vero Kern comes to mind. Big florals, complex scents, animalic touch, undeniably modern.

The other day I got to try Bakir and it's got a vintage vibe to it - Bal à Versailles Eau de Toilette but modern.

And I actually think N°19 Eau de Toilette in one of the concentrations might fit your bill - it's the only Chanel I can appreciate. Do try different concentration, they're very different
