Little joys outside of perfume

Little joys outside of perfume 2

Hi everyone,
Since we all share a love for fragrance here, I thought it might be nice to step away from the bottles for a moment.

What’s a small thing outside of perfume that always lifts your mood?

Looking forward to hearing yours answers!

My husband for sure. 🥰 Good science fiction is another such thing also. And beautiful nature of course, especially beach & sea.

I’ve been really into Joanna Newsom’s music! My best friend recommended her music to me. She’s an impressive lyricist!

Since it’s October and the temperature has started to drop, I’ve also been listening to a lot of H.I.M. and Type O Negative. Type O has some of the best slow burns in metal I’ve ever heard. H.I.M. is great at making songs you would shout-sing into your hairbrush late at night.

I used to paint and draw all the time growing up. But I’ve gone years and years without picking up a sketchbook. Earlier this week, I knew it was time for a change. I bought fresh paint supplies, and I intend to paint and draw gifts for people in my life.

Though it's not very fair to call them "things" – insects and other alike critters are both little, and always able to lift my mood. Precious little guys with adorable tiny feetsies ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

Nature photography is the only active non-collecting hobby I still engage in ever since I started dabbling in it in my youth, because it gives me an excuse to go out and play with them <3

talking to my friends and video games, watching or playing

Cooking & baking, I don't generally follow any recipes and like to go creative for the meals, desserts and cakes. Cooking really lifts the mood for me.

Video games would be a second but it is not so much about lifting the mood, but more for relaxing. (Unless I play Fifa / EA FC 26 or Monster Hunter, then it's relentless competition. Losing is not an option).

Aww glad I make you happy ☺️🥰

Same for me, watching movies and shows with my wife and especially on a night when we get takeout together 😁.

I also enjoy watching stuff on my own sometimes if it is something I think she will not get as much enjoyment out of as I do from certain shows and movies.

Gaming now and again. Used to do a lot of art, but I am sick of the subscription service adobe uses these days instead of being able to just outright buy Photoshop you now need to make sure you cancel exactly a year to the day you subscribe or you get early cancellation fees or are locked in to yet another year of monthly payments 🤯 But I still enjoy a little photography now and again.

I like seeing my uncles dog Harry as I used to look after him for long periods of time and felt like he was my own dog at times, he is getting older now though so we can’t do as much as we used to which is a shame as we both really enjoyed a local walk here next to a stream with some nice nature. Yup nature is another thing I enjoy too.

I'm really getting back into crochet for the first time in over a year!

Also, I work as a veterinary assistant and it can be a really tough job sometimes but there are so many little things about it that I love! For example, my coworker brought her Rottweiler Ruby in today and she's the sweetest and it always cracks me up that she'll try to squeeze herself into people's laps despite being 77 lbs 😂 I also love getting to meet so many different people and their animals, and I also think it's so cool how far we've come with science and what we can do with modern medicine. I'm especially fascinated by surgery because getting to go into the body and see how all the parts fit and work together is so interesting to me!
