One of the Unlimited reformulations that brings a scent down!
Paying less for more doesn't always work out!

If i had not gotten a 200ml for £45 i would be sending this back as the notes are not as advertised anymore. USC is still selling the green text version in the UK on their website but instead of creating a separate item page for the new reformulated version with black text only, they are both on the same page listing only the original's notes. The new box has written on it what the notes are with the black text version and are as follows.

The top notes have the mint and grapefruit replaced with Iced violet leaf. Then the mid has removed 2 of the notes and is only pineapple now. The base is sandalwood accord. That's all folks!

I thought it was strange the store was selling the 200ml in black text for £45 but only a 100ml of the green text is £75. There is no warning about the notes changing and i smell zero mint.

In the opening you get the iced Violet Leaf giving this cooling feel to it i guess to replace the mint which was actually one of the main notes i was looking forward to the most. Once the Violet is gone and it goes quick, you get left with the Pineapple which i do enjoy but I already own Club De Nuit Intense which has that strong Pineapple note in it. I guess if you don't like strong long lasting or strong projecting fragrances then this is for you. I personally don't like weak fragrances that last no time at all but with a 200ml bottle i suppose i will have plenty to keep refreshing myself with. lol.

Maybe if you layer this with something like Aqua De Gio Profondo or maybe D&G Light Blue Eau Intense or other similar freshies it could help with performance. I have yet to try that as i got some others i have been too busy enjoying at the moment but on a day when i am not busy i will try the layering and update this review with the results. Layering with Light Blue and Versace Man Eau Fraiche has had some success in boosting some of my other weaker fragrances making them perform like a beast. Another you could use it with if you love Pineapple is the previously mentioned Club De Nuit Intense to boost the Pineapple or the original it is cloning Creed Aventus. If you are someone reserved and don't like those strong type of fragrances but love Pineapple then grab the 200Ml deal on at USC for £45 while you can. Or if you wondered what Creed Aventus/ Club De Nuit smells like without the smokeyness to it again this might be up your street. So there could be an audience for this but i only see it as a layering fragrance tbh.

For those who love the OG again, USC is selling the one with the green text, so grab that while you still can. I unfortunately can't afford to keep buying the same things no matter if i got one cheaper while there are other fragrances i want to try out there. I just thought i would let people who love the original know that they should get the green text version while they still can.

The bottle is cool though, would have looked better with the green text though. That's what i get for trying to save money lol.

UPDATE:
After a long time of not wearing this i realized i have been harsh on this for it not having the advertised notes in it once did, but actually this smells really nice so i am raising its scent score. I should not judge things on what i thought it should be smelling like, and instead of what it is smelling like, and what it is, is actually a nice fruity, fresh fragrance with yes a nice sandalwood accord. If only it lasted longer. But yeah this is a very pleasant fragrance after all.

Value is average still though, because even if i am getting 200ml for £45 it doesn't last long, so if this was someone's signature scent they would go through it in no time. So keep that in mind. It is good for before going to bed if you want something nice smelling that won't go in to the morning though and yeah if you have a travel decanter it would be nice for through the day also.

What are we doing here?
I'll put up a disclaimer before I even do this review. I haven't smelled much from the brand other than the original Boss Bottled (which I also own) and this one. I enjoy the OG Boss Bottled. It's one of the most recognized designer fragrances of its time and is still used by a lot of people today. My problem is that when this scent was introduced to me, it was not under ideal circumstances. I was dating a girl around 2018-2019 and we had been at a Dillard's that day. I bought her J'Adore because that's the one that she said she liked the most. During this time, I wandered to the men's section and was smelling stuff and trying to avoid the sales rep at all costs because I knew what would happen. My girlfriend at the time starts chatting up the sales rep and one of the last fragrances she recommends is Boss Bottled Unlimited. My girlfriend put it on a test card, took one sniff, looked at me with a huge smile and told me to get it and to only wear it around her. Sounds adorable right? I learned a valuable lesson that day. Don't let your significant other pick your fragrances. In my case, our fragrance tastes were different but I agreed because I was expecting to be with this girl long-term and thought it would be nice to have a fragrance that reminded me of her. Strike 2. This would not be the last time she'd pick a fragrance for me (e.g. Versace Eros, Polo Red, John Varvatos Artisan). Lesson learned. Now it's review time and I can show you why you test stuff before you buy it.

The Smell: In my best imitation of Heath Ledger from the Dark Knight, "Here...we...go." To be frank, it smells like shower gel. For those that aren't aware of fragrance trends, this is a prime example. Brands do this mess every time. They'll find a trend and almost every designer on the market puts out something to match it. We had the "white" trend (which Boss Bottled was a part of), the "blue" trend (e.g. Dylan Blue, Bleu de Chanel, etc.), the "red" trend, and I could just keep going but you get the gist. I owned Lacoste white at one point and guess what, they smelled VERY similar. I prefer Lacoste white over this and this is why I hate trends. Once one fragrance does it, every fragrance that follows after, unless they pull it off better, looks like a copycat. Regardless the reputation of the brand, if you don't match that bar or exceed it, then it's a wrap. Boss Bottled Unlimited smells generic. Easy to wear, no thought process required here. It's linear and what you spray on initially is what's going to stick around for the lifespan. You look at the note breakdown and you think you are gonna get all of that? If you said yes, incorrect. You get the citrus, fresh-out-of-the-shower smell. Nothing crazy. Citrus, cinnamon, musk. Done. My biggest gripe to close out my ranting is that I was going on a date with this same girl the following weekend. I just took a shower, got dressed, and sprayed this fragrance on. I went to sniff it and I kid you not, I was confused. I could not tell the difference between my shower gel that I had JUST used and this stuff. Welcome to my dilemma, ladies and gentlemen.
Rating: 5/10

Projection: Since I rambled in the last section, we're gonna keep this one much shorter. Projection is fair. Almost arm's length projection for 2-3 hours and then that rapidly decreased to a skin scent. Wore it to work when it was stupid hot outside too and thought I'd get a little bit of a boost to make it look respectable. I was wrong in so many ways. Didn't change a thing.
Rating: 4/10

Pricing: Pay attention because this will be the best rating this fragrance gets this entire review. It's like a candle in the wind. A flicker and then it's gone. Depending where you look, you can grab this fragrance for CHEAP. I'm talking less than $40 USD cheap for 100 mL which is insane value for money. On the BOSS website, it's $115 dollars for 100 mL ($1.15 per mL). Looks good on paper right? I wouldn't do it, especially when you can grab it on other sites for as low as $37 USD ($0.37 per mL). See the difference? If you can grab it for cheaper, I highly recommend it.
Rating: 10/10* (if you can get it cheaper) / 9/10 if you pay full retail

Versatility: Thankfully, this is an area Boss Bottled Unlimited scored much better for me. You can throw it on basically any time you want. You are as limited as your imagination here. You can make the argument that it doesn't fit the criteria to "dress it up" but if you're confident, you can wear whatever you want and it'll be fine. Don't be fooled thinking only high priced fragrances can be used for high scale events. That's a trap. Don't fall for it and wear it when you feel like it. My only knock against it (this is me personally), it doesn't perform the best during cold weather. Not to say you can't wear it because you absolutely can. Just don't expect the performance to stand up to the elements.
Rating: 8/10

Final Verdict: 6.7/10 by the numbers. Objectively, that's what the fragrance receives. Subjectively, I give it a 3/10. The fact that I let another person pick fragrance for me without me even sniffing it first on multiple occasions means I'm clinically insane. Never again. You can keep a receipt on this one and reference this review specifically. I will never let my partner pick for me ever again without me smelling it first and I am in the same store with them. If it's bought as a present, different scenario. At this point in my fragrance journey, I want to push the boundaries and smell new things and not follow market trends. Boss Bottled Unlimited, to me, is pretty generic. Forgettable. It's sad because the OG Boss Bottled was excellent and this was several steps back. I've heard (unsure about credible sources though) that the recent releases have been better. I've learned my lesson and will test it this time.

High Summer Fragrance
I can relate to the feelings about the scent.
My son has the shower gel and deodorant, and it smells very fruity, slightly herbal, refreshing, a special kind, really super pleasant in the heat.
By the way, for a Pina Colada scent, it lacks the coconut and sweetness.

Pineapple as White Noise or the Boss cream for warm days (on the tennis court).
In the opening, there is a sweet freshness à la Aventus Cologne or Allure Homme Sport Superleggera for 15 seconds, but then something follows for 3-5 minutes that can be challenging for some. A cold puff that comes across as green, herbaceous or synthetic. This is the violet leaf that makes some people love Fahrenheit Eau de Toilette and Brioni (2021) Eau de Parfum fragrances, while others fail to find a way in. I can find these minutes of Boss Bottled Unlimited interesting and appreciate them, but not (yet) love them. I currently accept these few minutes.
After 5 minutes we are in DD, then it becomes a joy.

The synthetics turn into a creamy, white fragrance that mirrors the bottle and could be a wonderful fit both on the beach and in the office. The fragrance gives me 90s vibes, although I'm not quite sure how or where. Is it my imagination? But it reminds me of two fragrances I wore as a teenager, as if it were a mixture of Polo Sport Eau de Toilette and Tommy Cologne. And fortunately, I can't find the Boss Bottled DNA from Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette. Fine noses may detect the DNA, but I don't. And that's a good thing, because unfortunately I've never been able to do anything with this DNA. For me, the fragrance is closer to Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême than to Boss Bottled, although the proximity to AHSEE is more about the vibe. The Boss is less sweet, the pineapple is brighter and the mint is fresher. The fragrance is reminiscent of a nice sunscreen, but it doesn't smell like every other sunscreen you can buy at the drugstore.
After 30 minutes, you can clearly smell the pineapple, but I would like to say that it is a very sweet pineapple. There is nothing that reminds me of sticky sweet fragrances. The pineapple note gives me white noise associations, as it is diffuse in the sense of "secondary" and does not find a direct path to the nose. Together with the mint, it provides the cool note in the creamy musk and sandalwood blend, which comes across with a certain warmth. I only vaguely perceive cinnamon with my nose in my arms, the rose not directly at all. I think I detect something rose-like and floral in the overall composition.

Who is the fragrance suitable for? Anyone who appreciates a fragrance that should appeal to everyone else, is not in the least bit challenging (apart from a few minutes that some might dislike) and simply makes the wearer smell good in an uncomplicated way. You can wear it in everyday life to work, on summer vacation, for sports or just on the couch to feel good, as I am doing right now. A creamy, fresh fragrance that can only go down well, I think.

Who is the fragrance not suitable for?
Anyone who considers terms such as "designer", "pleasing", "restrained" and "fresh" to be pejorative categories.

Curiosity: The "Unlimited" lettering on the current bottles is probably not green, but black. The curious thing is that this disturbed me. I found green on white very fitting.
Because the fragrance actually has similarities to L.12.12 Blanc Eau de Toilette and would probably look very good on a tennis player in white on the green grass.

Refreshing Pineapple
A beautifully fresh, fruity scent for the height of summer. The pineapple is very dominant, but the mint balances the sweetness in a pleasantly cool direction.
In the drydown, you can also sense the origin. The Boss Bottled DNA, which you don't notice at first, comes to the fore and adds a very subtle woody note.

To my nose, it smells exactly like Only The Brave by Diesel. Fresh, synthetic, sweet and a bit leathery.

Green Text: fresh, surprisingly long lasting, and headache inducing at the start. Shines during spring. For leisure, open office or sports

Nice fresh citrus scent. Unfortunately it does not last long. Too bad the bottle does not have the green text anymore.
