The blue vanilla marker.
First Impressions
To those expecting a banana-vanilla ice cream milkshake scent: you’re in for a shock, because that is definitely not what this is.
The Blue Banana vibe is only prominently present during the opening, but it is immediately enveloped in a cool, bright metallic aldehydic embrace (reminiscent of the cold aluminum of industrial freezers).
The banana custard scent slides quickly into the background, where it is cloaked by a bright, fresh vivid accord with a slight bitterness from the geranium. While the Blue Banana accord remains present throughout, it is certainly not the lead player. Don't expect any sweetness other than that light base of creamy vanilla ice cream.
The labdanum flirts in between as a bright leather accord, rather than manifesting as a smoky, resinous scent. All other notes are well-blended, giving the composition a very airy vibe.
In the late dry-down, the banana custard fades even further, allowing the geranium to introduce a greener accord. This makes the scent feel vibrant and uplifting, while the labdanum provides a woody and leathery twist, eventually revealing a subtle, ghostly hint of incense that adds a mysterious depth.
The longevity is good, I get about six hours on my skin (my skin eats perfume).
On clothes it lingers 8-12 hours. In the very deep dry-down I still can pick up that vanilla-banana aroma.
It’s not a beast, but it is a "playful" release for the industrial rebel.
