Smells like it was made by clankers
The name of this fragrance has surely got to be a joke. “Paradigme” implies a shift of paradigm presumably towards the future, but this fragrance is going backwards if anything. A fresh aromatic amberwood with slight fruity notes, it stinks of the same AI-generated slop that Phantom was supposedly composed with. Like how AI “creativity” works, it seems to just be an amalgamation of every popular men’s fragrance over the last 10 years. Bland doesn’t even begin to describe it.

Generic? Yes. Smells Good? H**l yes!
This new release from Prada will definitely remind you of other things. Some say it smells like YSL MYSLF Le Parfum, and sure I can see it a little. On first spray, I get YSL MYSLF Le Parfum freshness, mid I get Valentino Uomo BIR Intense sweetness, and Boss Bottled Parfum woodiness (minus the spice). Smells like the likings above, and some will say it's generic, but I imagine this will sell really well for Prada. To us collectors -> redundant, to the mass market -> smells really good.

New fragrance enthusiasts may enjoy…
Certainly modern, fresh and green, like a green musk without the musk being overbearing. Versatile, and safe. Performance is average.

Not the same, but if you like Myslf you would like this as it’s a little more crisp with less sourness.

For the rest of us that have been in this hobby for a while, there’s nothing to see here. I love Prada, but this is extremely uninspired. Since its a new line though, perhaps this goes the way of Luna Rossa with some excellent flankers??

It smells good though and if this was my first fragrance I’d buy it. But because my nose has smelled so many similar things there’s no reason for me to pick up a bottle. This is marketed for the masses though and with the good smell, it will likely do well.

Geranium Strangeness in the 2020's, Part II
When Y Le Parfum launched four years back, I was into it. There was a bite to Y LP that I couldn't put my finger on until I looked it up, and there it was: geranium. It's an odd flower if you haven't sniffed one up close: there's a complexity to it at first, but there's something strong, sharp, biting about the middle of that scent that can knock you off your feet. Heck, it keeps mosquitoes away. Like with geraniums themselves, I had an on-and-off relationship to that bottle as time went on: some days it was such a unique floral take in the midst of so many citrus-patchouli or sandalwood-pickle scents. Other days, a cloying sweetness emerged and overwhelmed everything else. The reception was negative with most folks calling it some sort of "overly synthetic," while it was suspicious that no named nose was attached to the scent [edit: *originally.* Thanks, @mikeaveli, apparently Ropion was credited later as he already was with others in the Y line like the famous EDP.] Sure enough, it was reformulated later, and the geranium was gone.

Here we have a Prada scent with almost the same story: geranium in the heart, geranium sharpening the top notes, Geranium for President. All kinds of names of various people contributing to it instead of one nose. Cries of "overly synthetic" all over the internet. And once again, it's a scent that uniquely works on me where so many other designer scents just don't. Instead of a lavender-and-incense base like Y LP, here I'm getting a felt-suede sensation, much like Boss Bottled Elixir but without that felt feeling going over-the-top the way BBE did- I scrubbed that one. Paradigme's strangely balanced out by that biting floral geranium, and I'd say it's even a little sharper than usual due to a bit more bergamot. These notes are *leaping* off of my skin hours later. That's in contrast to Y LP, which stayed close. I sprayed this on my forearm, which doesn't often give much fragrance out into the world, but the scent bubble on Paradigme is ridiculous for me.

There's also something a little incense-y going on, but not frankincense like Y. Benzoin maybe. And despite the leatheriness and the incense, it's... surprisingly clean on me? That's probably white musk. I *love* white musk, on my skin it's clean linen, I live for a little bit of Chanel 1957. If white musk is too powdery on you, look out.

This is weirder than you're thinking when you see essentially a Firmenich-authored designer fragrance. Try it and let it dry; give it at least an hour before you buy a bottle (which, it has to be said, is a heck of a great bottle). It might be your thing; it is *not* an all-rounder crowd-pleaser, it is not a safe blind-buy (don't do that anyway), but the geranium heads out there should give it a look. Maybe that's a backhanded compliment, but it's one that applies directly to me as a weird fragrance guy who spent a good deal of his childhood with geraniums around his house.

…okay, but about five hours in, you are left with that fake-leather stuff. The late drydown *is* in fact generic.

Ugh... Green apple + aromatic opening a'la Eternity, then - say hello to generic, sweet designer sludge boosted by Prada's powderiness.

Smells synthetic, like a 10€ Zara perfume. Worst release of 2025 so far, can’t believe this is a Prada.

Another crap in "modern", artificial synthetic and example of how good notes "create" scents under mainstream brands guidelines.
