Awesome Sandalwood from AdP

After disappointing experiences with some other AdP colognes, I didn't really know what to expect with Saldano. But after the first spray - oh my - what a delight AdP has created here. Of course, there is the high quality citrus opening expected of AdP. As the dry down progressed, there was a great touch of lavender and finally the most awesome, smooth sandalwood with just the right subtle touch of sweetness.

True parfum performance. About arms length projection for almost 4 hours followed by a strong but closer scent bubble for another 3 hours. A quite noticeable skin scent remains 12 hours after application.

Barbershop-like without being overwhelmingly so. Very masculine, classy, civilized and sophisticated. Not too heavy, so it would work in summer. Good anytime of day or night, anytime of the year.

Available in a 6 ounce industrial size bottle for a reasonable price given the high quality. I'm picking up a big bottle of this baby for sure.

My one (and unfortunately only) from Acqua di Parma

I wish my relationship with Acqua di Parma wasn't so complicated. The bottles of the Mediterranean line, in particular, are simply beautiful to look at – the blue is captivating, not to mention the concept behind these fragrances. But what the advertising promises is one thing, and how fragrances develop on the skin is another. Sorry, Parma: all your expensive scented waters have been a disappointment so far. In a nutshell: I don't like any of them – and that goes for other Acquas like "Club" as well. Perhaps the new release "Buongiorno" is an exception – a very lively mint scent. Not bad, not great either.

I don't know why I never tried the black line. But a few days ago, I finally did – what a surprise! With "Sandalo" in particular, Acqua di Parma has done everything right.

I can still tell it's an Acqua di Parma, but this time, nothing bothers me. The scent starts fresh, but not nearly as citrusy as the listed notes would suggest. Floral notes of lavender are present from the beginning. Cardamom makes the composition distinctly masculine, while amber and tonka bean round it off with a slightly sweet touch, making the fragrance more modern and sexy. And the sandalwood is there too – but overall, "Sandalo" is much more than its name promises, and not just sandalwood.
Some describe the scent as very dry. I can't confirm that. It definitely has a sweet component that leans towards tobacco.

Overall, "Sandalo" is very soapy – and that also makes it smell so clean. An expensive soapy signature scent that works for me both in the office and in the evening. Wonderful!

Simply Knitted but Very Elegant

For the past 2 days, I have been testing the perfume from AdP Sandalo.
The citrusy opening of lemon and orange is very refreshing. The heart note of lavender and cardamom quickly joins in, making the scent quite interesting in a short time. A freshness with a slightly deeper bitterness. Kept simple, but in combination, it makes the fragrance appear very elegant.
This scent truly transports you to southern Italy, in the evening by the sea at an osteria with a good wine and something light and delicious Mediterranean to eat.
The longevity is quite decent for me, around 6-7 hours. The sillage is present but rather subtle. I think that’s what the fragrance aims to be. Reserved, elegant, sexy, and mysterious. The drydown is well highlighted with sandalwood and tonka bean. Everything somehow fits together very harmoniously.
Overall, it’s a successful and noble fragrance that knows how to impress without being intrusive. You can recognize the DNA of Acqua di Parma, as with almost all AdP fragrances.
Solid, simple, interesting. It can be worn in spring, summer, and autumn. In winter, it would be too light for me. It doesn’t fit there.
Last but not least, it is a proud fragrance.
Its price, however, is also proud at 200 euros.
Is it worth it? For some yes, for others no.
For me yes, because I love the lightness and sexiness of Sandalo.

Time and time again...

... this fragrance is applied in the morning. After showering in the morning and when one is getting ready, this fragrance is put on. Whether on the shirt of a suit or a polo shirt, this is how one can leave the house. The scent has elegance.

At first, you are greeted by citrus fruits with a slightly overripe note that is somewhat sweet in the nose. The overripe note fades after a while, framed by cardamom and lavender. The finish is made up of sandalwood, amber, and tonka bean that round off the fragrance.

The longevity and sillage are quite decent.

This fragrance can be worn anytime and anywhere by both young and old.

If you like a more conservative perfume, this is the right choice.

Gentleman

A fragrance for a gentleman with unfortunately weak performance and projection. Otherwise, a beautiful sandalwood scent that reminds me of Ralph Lauren Safari. The fragrance is well-suited for the office and for dinner, as it is so unobtrusive. It has a lovely soapy lavender note and, combined with cardamom and tonka bean, creates an unforgettable composition. Unfortunately, the scent lasts only about 5 hours on me, and at my price of €100 for 20 ml, it's unfortunately weak.
