herb Bitterness
One often tries something new. And for me, this scent is new, although I have known the brand Atkinsons for a while (it always seemed too expensive to me).
And here, I must confess, it is once again the case: Posh on the green unfortunately does not convince me.
For this price, I think one could expect something better. Especially since the translation is supposed to mean something like: posh on the lawn - or something similar.
According to the perfumer's notes, it is supposed to "olfactorily rebel against the traditional, old-fashioned green-woody scents".
To be honest, all I can smell here is a slightly lemony-bitter water that lasts longer than other lemon scents, but brings nothing green to my nose.
Versense by Versace, for example, is much greener-fresher and significantly cheaper.
It's really a shame that I can't give a good review here, even though many see it differently.
I think my expectations were probably a bit too high. Sorry to all the lovers of this scent.

Spleen can - but doesn't have to
An Atkinsons might not be a true Atkinsons if it didn't contain a hint of spleen. And so, from the spice corner, I smell coriander, more the seeds than the fresh green, but above all, I sense (spleen part one) the sweatiness of cumin. It would be new to me that coriander can also "do" that. The petitgrain calmly shows both fruity and herbal aspects. Successful.

And of course, there is plenty of green, from the bent twig to the pea pod. The sweat mixes in amusingly with it. A slight bergamot-cheesy note (spleen part one and a half), and as it develops, a bit of "gentlemanly spice," dominated by both geranium and clary sage. A pinch of cinnamon might be involved. Late in the morning, the spleeniness reaches its peak with part two: I think of fresh cucumber salad with oriental spices.

By noon, the scent impression changes astonishingly quickly. It goes through the afternoon classically and green-soapy. Hey, it wasn't meant that way! At its core, we are conservative. Just don't change anything, especially not the circumstances. Effortlessly, images of harmless, carefree lives of spoiled, noble young men are evoked, who engage in exclusive hobbies related to equestrian sports in the (advanced, of course) morning and then partake in social life from the afternoon onward. With such associations, unfortunately, this kind of marketing must be reckoned with...

After nearly eight hours, Posh on the Green ends with a decent woodiness that only seems moderately artificial, certainly not smelling like a hardware store. It is supported by a diffuse synthetic freshness (cucumber salad, I hear you creeping in) - perhaps there is an isotonic drink for the gentlemen after their game?

Conclusion: Fresh, green, carefree. The described oddities can be emphasized, but they don't have to be. The scent comes across as a friendly, somewhat original newcomer. Decent.

I thank Bartholomeo for the sample.

It's so green…
If you want it unisex and green-green, then you're in the right place. This is a scent that took me several tries to really warm up to. I bought it about a month ago, quite spontaneously, because I just felt like buying something in this well-stocked perfumery. I was looking for a summery-green fragrance that is neither fruity nor sweet, and it meets those criteria. Still, I didn't wear it for weeks. It simply faded too quickly for me, and I always smelled basil where there was none. Now I've dug it out again, applying more generously and reapplying without hesitation, that's how you improve the longevity.

The scent itself starts off herbal and green, there's my basil that I think I smell. At first, the fragrance seems a bit bitter and has a slightly sharp note. But as soon as the initial impression fades a bit, it smells of herbs and green leaves. It doesn't develop much further, just becomes a bit softer and stays that way. I smell nothing but green plants and a green meadow with grasses all around. A sporty and boyish scent that can be worn equally well by men and women. It smells mature and has nothing particularly sweet about it; instead, it is very fresh, crisp, slightly spicy, and of course, green-herbaceous.

The longevity is, as already mentioned, modest, so the bottle is quickly emptied with multiple applications per day. At this price, this is a detail not to be underestimated. This may be a reason for me not to repurchase it.

The bottle visually appeals to me quite a bit; it looks sporty-elegant and has a touch of British chic. However, at 100ml, it is rather too large for women's hands. But perfect for a men's bathroom cabinet.

A gentle green. I love the coriander and geranium combo. Kinda hate the bottle and the name but you can’t win ‘em all.

Timeless freshness - like the soap of a luxury hotel. Beautiful top note of petitgrain and coriander green ends on a woody vetiver base.

Nice, fresh-green, slightly bitter start. Then the rose comes in, but only subtly in the background, giving the scent some depth.

The drizzle hangs heavily in the garden hedge. The day is gray and damp. The air smells dark green, bitter-sweet, and wonderfully melancholic.

Very British! Cool, a bit reserved, soapy herbiness. Wonderfully fresh. Herbal, rich green. Amazing!!

Grass clippings shaved off, oranges draped on, sweater vest put on. The forest troll has turned into a gentleman. Why does he look so daft?

Atkinsons always manages to... disappoint me. It has everything I like, but it ends up being a dull Petitgrain.

After a citrusy start, the fragrance takes on a subtle bitter green twist with a floral soapy touch. Great for business.
