In Search of the Lost Scent
The brand Berdoues was introduced to me by Karstadt - I didn't know it before.
Even in my top niche perfumery, I had never come across it.
But Karstadt must have a skilled perfume buyer, as the fragrance selection there is always good.
At least in Bochum.
I started with the Gran Crus Collection and am now giving some creations a new home.
Then I turned to the 1902 group of this label, and it also convinced me.
The Grand Crus are light yet valuable - and the same goes for the 1902s.
While the 1902s are a bit more cologne-like - transparent and yet special.
Amande & Tonka is the sweetest in the line - but definitely suitable for summer.
I wanted to get it, but the shelves were raided.
The 1902s also shine with a fair price.
I searched the store meticulously - and found a hidden bottle of the pleasant almond-tonka scent.
The clear pear on fresh grass offers a refreshing start.
Softly, the almond flows in, accompanied by delicate mimosa.
Sandalwood feels creamy and rounds off the sweet tonka bean.
Now in summer, it is not too much - and in winter it will not be too little, as the ingredients are harmoniously coordinated.
Not an everyday scent - but well wearable everywhere.
I'm glad I found it.
