Vanilla done right!

Just got a sample. REALLY good. And I'm not too keen on vanilla fragrances. This is done tastefully. Not too sweet, opulently smoky, unisex/feminine leaning... yeah. This is good.

Unique? I'm not too sure. It reminds me of something I either have or have smelled. In it's defence, how many ways can you do vanilla until it's all been done? In any event, this is vanilla done right!

Fbw?? For me, no. Only because I know I will own it and not wear it. I have enough sweet fragrances should the rare need or occasion call for it.

However, if I smelled this on a woman at some fancy gala or even club, I would be 100 percent intrigued.

Almost Perfect

I enjoy this almost as much as Seven Veils, which is more of a sensual vibe. There are 3 main entities here that fight for the spotlight. Piercing through a very warm and consistent vanilla is the cashmere wood and cistus labdanum. The note of plum certainly adds a plot twist that makes the transformation more exciting. This is almost the perfect vanilla. After further analyzing, the tenacity and projection of Vanille Antique is lacking a bit for an Extrait, but interesting while it lasts. Sadly my hunt continues for a signature vanilla.

A Journey to the Silk Road

Vanille Antique captivated me not only with its beautiful and dreamy name but also with its scent elements. I first got a sample to test it thoroughly. After several disappointments, I have refrained from blind purchases.
VA comes with a very pleasant and warm embrace. For me, the first notes that are immediately noticeable are amber and vanilla. The vanilla is not intrusive or artificial. The warmth of amber. In the drydown, I smelled plum and vanilla in interplay. It is a subtle scent that is not loud and does not want to be. The fragrance was perceptible to me for up to 8 hours. Towards the end, it became woody and the vanilla disappeared. However, the warmth and slight sweetness remained in the scent.
So much for the scents. When I apply VA, it takes me on a journey. A journey into the past. More precisely, to the Silk Road. Arriving at many junctions, I smell the entire spice world of the Near East and Asia. I let myself be carried away by the many different merchants and their goods. Eyes closed and nostrils flared, so as not to miss any nuance. I sit by the roadside and enjoy my mint tea.

A Wonderful Surprise

Anyone who loves Arabians Tonka by Montale will love this even more.
At the beginning of my journey through the diverse world of perfumes, I eventually came to the Extrait de Parfum by Byredo. At first sniff, I wasn't impressed; I was only used to generic scents, sweet, fruity, and not long-lasting at all.
After the second and third spray, I was in love. The scent is simply sexy, best suited for going out in the winter evenings or on summer nights.
Woody, spicy, interesting, and exciting. I love this scent more and more every time I wear it; I completely lose myself in it.
The sillage and especially the longevity are overwhelming, and the price definitely reflects that... A perfect and successful fragrance.

Special Gift for Special Occasions

Unfortunately, I can't describe the scent... but I would still like to share my experiences with you.

The fragrance was a gift from my girlfriend for our first Christmas together.
My first thought was: what could I have gotten with this budget for 50 ml...

My girlfriend liked it so much before the purchase that she just assumed I would like it too.
As someone who loves vanilla scents, I was initially disappointed after the first sniff.
I couldn't really pick up on a classic vanilla scent...

After using the fragrance 2-3 times, it became indispensable in my collection.
I really can't describe what it smells like, but it's just incredibly good.
Every person I've shown this fragrance to couldn't stop sniffing the bottle.

The scent is simply unbelievably UNIQUE

That's why I only use this fragrance for special evenings to smell correspondingly special.

The sillage and longevity are good, but given the price, they could definitely be stronger.
