Very Good Girl Elixir Carolina Herrera 2024 Eau de Parfum

This is really nice; one of the only cherry scents I’ve tried that I’d actually consider adding to my collection. I appreciate the note of black cherry over the seemingly ubiquitous sour cherry for sure.

So - loads of juicy cherry upfront, followed by rose, almond, and vanilla. It finishes up creamy with just a hint of chocolate. It lasts really well, and projects moderately without being overpowering. I feel like I could wear this all year round, except perhaps the hottest days of summer, but it shines the most in autumn/winter to my mind.

The initial blast of cherry pits and almonds was sweet, sharp and synthetic – reminded me of cheap coffee syrups. I'm personally not a fan of those flavors, but they are a classic combination that fits together nicely. Doesn't last though.

The upper notes mixed with their flowery backdrop and dissipated within the first 30 minutes. Floral air freshener remained. Flowers lasted another hour, give or take, but soon were gone as well. I didn't feel much of the cocoa in the base. Mostly vanilla — mellow, pleasant, unintrusive. It also wasn't powdery on my skin at all, even at this stage. Around ~3rd hour mark it was completely gone.

Honestly, I don't get it. I didn't vibe with the original Very Good Girl either, but at least it felt like a rounded out and balanced composition. Performed better too... This just feels like it was thrown together last minute because someone at the top decided they had to hop onto the "Elixir" trend.

The cherry accord is the main focus of this composition and remains noticeable from the very beginning. The opening is sweet, supported by a soft almond nuance that adds roundness and warmth. As the fragrance progresses, it settles into a close‑to‑the‑skin base that becomes more delicate but still retains its cherry character. On fabric, the scent lasts significantly longer and remains detectable even at the end of the day, showing better performance than on skin. Overall, it is a feminine gourmand fragrance and a solid example of perfumes built around cherry notes, offering a straightforward and enjoyable interpretation of this theme.

At first spray, it’s all about sweet cherry with a hint of cocoa. The cherry then fades a little to make room for vanilla and almond.

After a few minutes, the bitterness of the almond starts to unfold, cutting through the sweetness - which, in my opinion, makes the fragrance better and far more interesting.

That bitter note probably won’t appeal to those who prefer very sweet perfumes, or to anyone sensitive to that kind of accord. But for me, it’s exactly what makes this scent enjoyable.

The longevity is good, though the projection seems a bit more discreet compared to its predecessors.

Was pretty excited for this one, I’m huge fan of CH, something about the DNA is addicting to me. Also a huge cherry fan. I got the 7 ml mini shoe and since it’s a dapper, can’t really test it on paper or clothes.

At first it’s lovely, realistic, really sweet candy like, almost cloying but not medicinal cherry and almond. After ten minutes it turns something else. It’s hard to describe, but it smells almost milky, like Dove - glowing ritual, lotus flower and rice milk. So weird, it’s not a bad scent but so unexpected.

I can see all ages wearing this. It’s like YSL - over red but less spicier and more milky and smoother and not as complex. Oh, and it stays on skin, it’s elixir after all.

Tbh I would not pay for the full price, even tho I love Carolina. It’s nice scent, but pretty expensive for what you get and you definitely don’t need both Glam and this. Unless you are a cherry-loving collector.

Edit. The more I smell it, the more I love it. I put more and more throughout the day and the skin scent is beautiful too. I still get the Dove scent, but it’s not that strong anymore. I had to order 10 ml travel size, it’s still a little too pricey for my liking.
