Peppery oriental

A very nice spicy and above all very peppery oriental. The raspberry, so delicious in the edt, has completely disappeared for me here. All that remains is an amber/spices/wood trio.

Personally, I prefer the edt with more raspberry but Hot Couture edp nevertheless remains a very pretty perfume for those who like orientals and spices in perfumery. For my part I don't smell any tobacco here.

It won't please everyone, so try it!

unfortunately just a warm breeze

Big names like Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavalier Belletrud are responsible for this fragrance composition released in 2000: “Hot Couture” (as Eau de Parfum) from the house of Givenchy.
Curiosity grows, as so much comes together here that promises pleasure.

A true wave of syrupy fruity aromas of ripe, sweet raspberries, bergamots, and oranges comes towards me, interwoven and cooled by a rather generous dose of black pepper, which makes my sensitive nose itch and signals “Caution!”
Magnolia with its delicate scent and familiar white-pink porcelain outfit greets me only briefly before vetiver builds a bridge from this rather sparse heart note to the base of creamy sandalwood with its usual fine animalic notes, cuddly musk, and amber.

“Hot Couture” disappoints me, standing in the shadow of what once was and has only hesitantly taken the step into the 2000s.
I am dissatisfied with myself because my skin is so uncooperative and simply refuses the impressions described here!
Despite several tests, nothing changes; I just don’t dare to over-apply because of the pepper.
But does the dose really make the fragrance in “Hot Couture,” or is it the bottling, is it too old, too weak?

So Givenchy and I once again fail to live in harmony with each other.
I don’t know whose fault it is, but I believe I will also give up hope for coexistence with this brand.
It’s just like with the “Princess and the Pea”: They couldn’t come together!
But still: What a shame, very shame!

The Best Jeans of All Time

Back to 2000. Everything was easy, the world, life, the new language. No worries, young, impulsive, wonderful. Tout était formidable. During my time in Paris, I was filled with a feeling that fluctuated between coolness and sexiness. It must be said that I snagged the most legendary jeans of all time at Mango in Paris, striking and not too stretchy with a golden M on the backside. I can only say très chic and très sexy. Who needs HAUT couture when you can get it HOT? So, on Rue de Rivoli, besides that significant Mango shop, was my favorite café, where I loved to enjoy my café au lait after a shopping spree, devouring a tiny raspberry tart and amusing myself with the tourists and their astonished eyes. From Chinese to Arabs, South Americans and North Americans, all nations were present, but many countries from all over Europe also paid their respects to the French capital. Who can blame anyone for visiting the city of love? No one. Not even me, who settled there after buying a one-way ticket from Chur to Paris and hastily quitting my job in Switzerland. After all, true love doesn’t wait for you every day, does it?

Hot Couture reminds me of exactly this beautiful life, the wow-life with the raspberry cherry on top, which showcases the sunny side of life in all its splendor, the sweet lightness on one hand and the opulence of heaviness on the other, with a slightly smoky and woody touch and hints of a chocolatey undertone that captivates with a spicy whisper.

Edith Piaf would indeed describe it like this:
