A boy saw a little rose standing..
Gritti is known for high-quality and also special fragrances. Without looking, I reached into the shelf and pulled out this beautiful black flacon. Never would I have come up with the idea that this would be a women's fragrance, let alone a rose fragrance.
After spraying it on, good old Goethe came directly to mind and I said to myself:
"Sah ein Knab' ein Röslein stehn,
Röslein on the heath,
Was so young and morning beautiful,
He ran quickly to see it close,
Saw it with many joys.
Röslein, Röslein, Röslein roth,
Röslein auf der Heiden."
This poem really says it all about the fragrance "Mathi" From the house of Gritti. The white rose comes with a dominance, as I rarely smelled it and only hours later the sandalwood and honey lets itself be seen in the discreet background. The rose remains! The sillage is impressive and the durability super. The next morning, the scent was no longer on the skin, but still noticeable on the clothes.
I do not care about the categorization in women's, men's or unisex fragrance and therefore I have no problem wearing "Mathi" as a man. I like rose scents, which is an absolute requirement for this piece. Still, it walks right on the line of OK and Too Much!
Conclusion:
Do not be misled by the brilliant black bottle and take this rosy thing only if you are sure to want to wear such fragrances. And it's not bad if the Knab sees the little rose standing.
