The lively Aventus interpretation
It is fair to say that many brands have been inspired by this typical Creed Aventus DNA. So has Gritti with You're so vain. However, this one has its own twist, as it reminds me so slightly of Rosso Pompei by Tiziana Terenzi with this great grapefruit note. In any case, it is quite unique, as Gritti also exudes this typical Italian flair in its fragrances. I like this signature of brand owner and perfumer Luca Gritti. Most of this brand's freshies simply smell of Italian lightness and sunshine. Overall, I really like this brand and some of them are already in my collection. The price is great, of course, as you can get many for 50% less than the RRP. The RRP of this Freshie is 260€, before the price increase it was 245€. It's on offer for around half that price. Since the big hype has failed to materialize, it is readily available. However, it is probably not a shelf warmer, as it is not exactly unpopular. This DNA is timeless and this great fresh fragrance can be used in many different ways.
You're so vain is part of the IVY Collection. It is priced in the middle range of this brand, as there is still room at the top and bottom. The bottles come in a great black bottle, which in this case does not reflect the fragrance. However, the golden decorations including the lid make the whole thing very classy. The packaging is also cool and not too much.
As I said, the Aventus DNA hits you immediately after spraying it on. Possibly slightly more towards blockade due to the fruity freshness. Already extremely suitable for the masses and already a fragrance that is easy to wear. To be too similar to Aventus, this Gritti has too many fruity notes that pull this fragrance even more in the casual and summer leisure direction. This grapefruit also gives this fragrance a great invigorating freshness kick with tart, tangy notes. There is also lemon, which of course should not be missing in an Italian freshie. The green notes are barely recognizable as such, as they blend well with the lemon and grapefruit. The heart notes are followed by even more fruits with a cool vibe. Blackcurrant and a great mix of red fruits create a great harmonious heart note. The harmony between fruit and citrus is also quite present and the result is a great fruity-citrusy mix that is easy to wear in warm and hot weather. In the base come nutmeg and patchouli. Nutmeg gives this creation its spiciness, which in this case is not autumnal or even wintery. The nutmeg note blends in well and sits nicely under the woody notes (which are not listed here in the pyramid). Tobacco blossom is also said to be in this creation. In any case, it is very soft and also remains light in the base and has a great finish. The base and the end are rather soft with patchouli and the gentle spiciness of nutmeg. Oakmoss adds a few classic vibes to the patchouli note. Overall, a fragrance that is not overwhelming and is actually ALWAYS wearable if you are in the mood for a freshie.
Performance is absolutely fine for these conditions and this fragrance lasts 6-8 hours with about 3 hours of very good sillage. Therefore top for everyday life, sports and whenever you feel like wearing this fragrance. The fragrance should appeal much more to men, but women can also try this fragrance.
Overall, a great fragrance from the Gritti brand. Convinces with a great citric freshness with a tangy grapefruit and great fruits. It's not mega-unique, but it does its job very well. I could well imagine buying or wearing it. The price-performance ratio is really good if you buy it on offer.
