Impression made on a sample
Lovely scent. I mean it's already described by others. Oud is mainly present at the beginning. It hangs strong in there for around 40 minutes, and afterwards it still stays there, milder for around 20 to 30 minutes. On the same level of intensity come the core notes. Until now they (core notes) hanged in there for 3 hours, and now the final (warm) set of notes come into play (very intimate) for the last 5 hours.
I looked for a bottle, and I think the second- hand price is a really appealing compromise for 100ml EDP (new, not so much) : so, since I am a FM fanboy I will have to say the quality of the juice is close to them, but not quite there (hence the approval of SH price) .

It's a very mature and 'serious' perfume but still young' ish??? It leans masculine.

I didn't test it during a normal day of usage (sweating, ect. ) , just leisure so longevity is also still tested.

The Ruby in the Night
It was shortly after sunset in Lugano. The lagoon was bathed in deep purple as I entered the small, unassuming antiquarian bookstore on a side street. The owner, a man with amber eyes, barely looked up as I walked in. Just a nod, then he reached into a drawer and pulled out a small, velvet box.

“For you,” he said curtly, as if he had been expecting me for years.

When I opened the box, it didn't contain jewelry, but a perfume bottle covered in soft velvet, heavy in my hand, the cap appearing gilded. I lifted it, smelled it, and the world around me changed.

Cardamom and saffron filled my nose, like the spicy air of an oriental bazaar at dawn. Behind it, the deep, sensual heartbeat of Taif rose, nestled in dark oud and myrrh, as if I were standing in a palace whose walls whispered stories.

With every breath, I felt the warm, gentle sandalwood, the smoke of incense, and a hint of animalistic wildness. It was not just a scent; it was an invitation.

I stepped out of the shop, and Lugano was no longer the same place. The streets seemed like maps that only I could read. Somewhere out there, a treasure awaited.

And I knew: As long as I wore Florian, I would find it.

My conclusion:
Florian is not a fragrance that one simply “wears”; it is more like a precious coat that one consciously puts on when wanting to make an impression. It is immediately captivating, almost like a handshake with someone who won’t let go.

It is a scent that does not aim to please everyone, and that is exactly what makes it special. It has edges, contours, and a certain aristocratic severity that transforms into a soft, comforting warmth after hours. For me, it is ideal for evenings, special occasions, or moments when one wants to remind oneself of their own strength.

Dei gratia gloriosus Venetiarum
About the scent:
At first, the oud bursts forth and hits the nose with full force, racing over the olfactory receptors and slamming into the head with bestial power.

"Florian | Gritti," whose parents were probably very creative with naming, surprisingly comes from the deepest Orient. This becomes immediately clear from the first impression. One can perceive a slight animalic note, then the rose fully unfolds, enveloping the oud and becoming one with it. It is a fresh rose, not a dark one, a bright one. Cardamom gives the scent a masculine, light spiciness. The fragrance then becomes darker, deeper, and more masculine in the dry down, likely due to the frankincense and civet.
It seems as if Florian has descended into the mystical catacombs of Venice at night.

Despite the rather "simple" oud-rose combination, the fragrance possesses a certain complexity that is certainly to be expected at this price category. Less experienced noses will likely notice a similarity to "Ombre Nomade | Louis Vuitton," although the Gritti is much more floral and less fruity. Especially in terms of performance and longevity, it outshines the LV, particularly when you can get it at a lower price.

Sillage is bombastic. It lasts and lasts, on clothing for days. One spray in the morning, off to the office, and still smelling it in the evening while exercising. What more could one want?

The vaporizer is very powerful, ideal for ASMR enthusiasts and for anyone who loves auditory stimuli. The bottle is high-quality in velvet, and the cap is indeed, according to the website, dressed in 24-karat gold and adorned with the logo of the Gritti dynasty. Inspired by the attire of Venetian Doges. Here, a clear connection to Luca Gritti's ancestry can be recognized, whose roots lie in an Italian noble dynasty.
All in all, not a scent that stands out for its uniqueness, but rather for its quality.

Ruby Red
As the dust of the Wild West met ancient civilizations, Florian von Gritti galloped in as a perfume outlaw. Cardamom, ginger, and saffron, the spiced gunslingers, burst into the saloons of our senses with a bang, their aromas as sharp as the shots of a duel at sunset.

The Arabian Taif rose, accompanied by agarwood and myrrh, resembles a fearless gang riding through the dusty plains of the Orient. At the heart of this adventure, the precious oud reigns like the hidden treasure of a long-forgotten city, surrounded by the spicy notes of cardamom and the dramatic presence of the Taif rose, towering over them like a silhouette, wild and untamed like the spirit of the West itself.

Sandalwood, incense, and civet form the foundation of this masterpiece, like the quiet moments by the campfire, under the endless canopy of stars, telling tales of freedom and adventure. Somewhere, a hyena roams, searching in vain for the civet.

The bottle, a tribute to the elegance of Italian aristocracy, blends with the ruggedness of frontier life, a symbol of the union of culture and wilderness.

Florian, the ruby of Gritti, is the call of adventure, the echo of treasure maps and forgotten legends, wrapped in a fragrance. It brings the calm after the storm, the contemplation by the campfire, as the last embers illuminate the night with stories of freedom and adventure.

The Florian in Animalik PUR
I actually bought Florian blind and was thrilled with this little potion. YES, it has a certain similarity to "Ombre Nomade | Louis Vuitton," but it is still completely independent. The similarity probably lies in the Oud.
Speaking of Oud, this contains real Laotian Oud. You don't often come across that, but at this price point, you should at least expect a little bit and not like with "Oud Maracujá | Maison Crivelli." Whether you can smell the real vs. synthetic, I don't know. My olfactory bulb isn't fine enough for that. :-) Now to the scent development
The opening is strong and very Oud/herbaceous. More than 2 sprays are not necessary. No alcohol smell or anything similar. Everything is perfectly balanced. The dark, herbaceous notes, probably incense and civet, dominate in an almost linear progression. I also somehow perceive an Oud plum, even though it is not listed here; I have the feeling that yes, it is there. Not sweet, but beautifully herbaceous.
After about 10 minutes, something sweetish comes in that I can't quite identify, but it must be the rose. It is well hidden in the background but still present. On my skin, the scent lasts for hours. Even after showering, it is noticeable on the skin.
Florian is not for everyone and definitely not unisex. This is Animalik Pure.
I still need to figure out for which occasion I will wear it. Definitely not a scent for every day. It is just special.

UPDATE:
After testing the scent for several days in a row, I have started to like this beautiful Oud fragrance. It is simply perfectly balanced. I only use 2, at most 3 sprays, and the scent lasts on me for 12 hours!! It is a S/H monster, and you can easily wear it daily. Since I have several fragrances in my portfolio, I layer daily. Sometimes sweet, sometimes citrusy, etc., but at the end of the day, only the Florian remains.
UPDATE II:

Since my first update, a few days have passed, and I have to tell you: I love this scent. So unique. I am glad that I have 100 ml of this beautiful fragrance and wear it daily. I get positive comments so often, and it lasts and lasts like the Duracell commercial (some of you know it).

Opens rose-cypriol, reminding me of Favonius/Mana. Cardamom/saffron give it a nutty praline vibe like Haltane. Opens strong, but fades fast.

Powerful oud perfume. Floral elements fade after a couple hours and it’s all woods then I think the sandalwood and oud last rest of the journey.

I'm not a Gritti fan, but this one is good! Rose-Oud with plenty of intensity and animalic notes. Not new, but made without compromise.
