Autumn by a fireplace!
The sharpness of pink pepper / saffron with the smoothness of musk gives this fragrance a “i want to cuddle you” feeling.
I like wearing this one in autumn when the leaves of the trees are discolored, at an open fireplace. Guerlain did a nice job on this one & the name is at his right place.
Sillage is above everage and you will get noticed with this one. This is an instant love at first sight!

Enjoy!!!

Musc Noble
First impression - I would bet it is Musk oil by Al Haramain if I didn't know. It starts as sharp, sweet musky geranium/ rose. Very beginning is sweeter , then turns sharp. I new it reminds me of something very inexpensive I tried. Yes ,little Musk oil by Al Haramain. As the time passes it is becoming more refined, subtle, more musky and clean. It lingers for over 12 hours on my skin , very comforting, slightly powdery and gorgeous. The cheap sharpness is long gone. This.is how it smells to me.

Noble Amber Laid on Roses
Musc Noble, the next episode of the Absolus d'Orient by Guerlain, was only added to Parfumo once it was already available in France, although I had had a sample for a while. Since I had only briefly tested it about 2 weeks ago and my first impression was not very positive, I wanted to wait until the fragrance was listed to test it again in peace, which I did today. Often, my expectations can spoil a fragrance that is actually quite nice. This was also the case here: The first impression was not good, but the second was significantly better!
The Absolus were originally designed, as the name suggests, for the Middle East and are tailored to the local taste. So no softies or fluffy gourmands, but rather the other end of the scale. I also had some issues with the naming of the individual fragrances: For example, Santal Royal was pure label deception, as I am still searching for the sandalwood to this day. Musc Noble is also not exactly what the name promises. Noble, yes, but musk is missing.
By the way, rumors suggest that the Absolus are being reformulated. Ambre Eternel is doomed (reportedly also Rose Nacrée du Desert from the sister line Les déserts d'Orient) and the line is set to be supplemented with Encens Mythique d'Orient and Songe d'un Bois d'Été, which means that these two will transition from the Deserts d'Orient and expand the Absolus to a total of 5 fragrances. Since the Absolus are available at a relatively affordable price, one naturally wonders how the pricing of the "newcomers" will be handled. But back to the fragrance!
Musc Noble could be seen as a mix of Rose Nacrée and Ambre Eternel, as I find elements of both. And if both are also falling away, that is also an indication.
The top note, in any case, is a very amber-heavy, rich rose mix that develops between soapy and powdery. After about 30 minutes, it becomes softer, more delicate, and leans towards the sweeter side, without ever becoming gourmand. Amber remains. You can tell me a lot now, but Oud is also in there; otherwise, I wouldn't have experienced nasal blindness and gasping during the first, even more negative test. In the second and "full test," I was warned and no longer perceive the slightly biting note as unpleasant, but rather wait for the bites to lessen so that I can fully absorb the oriental rose dessert.
I remain divided, as the Absolus will never become my best friends; I am too much into "fluffy." But the craftsmanship and quality of this fragrance should be appreciated, and at times I even find it fantastic... powdery-heavy, rose-beautiful, and immense. I'm just not brave enough to wear it permanently. But if you like Ambre Eternel, Rose Nacrée, or the Absolus in general -
Do you dare?

Noble goes who falls to ruin
Do you simply expect more from Guerlain?
Or do fans and loyal followers perhaps praise it even more?!

This noble musk has disappointed some,
even if due to its solid craftsmanship and simple beauty, a complete bashing is rare.

I personally quite like "Noble Musc,"
even if it lacks a bit of courage alongside the Guerlinade.

Moreover, it is more of a rose scent rather than a full-bodied musk,
which also raises false hopes with the name and deceives quite smoothly.

Additionally, this oriental-tinged rose combination has been smelled often,
but that doesn’t mean that the courteous ones have automatically outshone this silky dream.

Guerlain remains Guerlain and doesn’t completely let itself down even in "failures,"
perhaps this rosy rose just needs a bit more time and to be pumped more often.

However, I would have expected a bit more maturity and complexity,
but fortunately, boredom doesn’t escalate here.

The delicate little rose is indeed a bit younger and unblemished than hoped,
but the lack of sweetness might even cause some couples to quarrel over it.

Honestly, one must still be truthful,
there unfortunately isn’t much more beneath the beautiful facade.

In this noble collection, there are surely better picks,
this creation could have simply benefited from a few more refined touches.

For example, especially at Narciso Rodriguez, there are many times better musk scents,
as initially hinted, one expects a lift to entirely different heights from Guerlain.

Conclusion: simple but beautiful - at least if you like roses, musk, and saffron, a combo that by now, almost every perfume lover can sing backwards and has experienced in all possible forms, strengths, and variations. However, this is one of the more elegant, finer, more wearable variations of the theme. Or at least positioned in the upper third of this subgenre. Even if it doesn’t quite meet the extremely high expectations and Guerlain's exceptional status...

Mr. Water is back again... or "Do you have Opium?"
There he is again, Mr. Water. The one who also created L'Homme Ideal. That already caused some divided opinions here. I liked it. The scent, well... And as so often, what I like is usually a bit lower on the scale here on Parfumo. But by now, I realize that this is just fine. Whenever something is rated more differentiated here, especially when the negative reviewers cleverly derive the failure of the scent, it makes me like it even more. The nice thing about it is, I buy first, and then read here. My tactic remains the same: heart and gut decide about the scent. Then comes the reading about it. I won’t indulge in the artful description of scent pyramids, derivations of what the name of the fragrance carries in comparison to its actual smell. It is so exhausting, no matter what a scent is called, because the name cannot contribute to the content. The name is marketing from a strategist. The content of the bottle is the true essence. And so it is here as well. Here’s a little anecdote that happened to me in the shop I trust. I was just sniffing the Cologna Intense by Houbigant when a woman stormed into the shop from outside, let’s say (I believe without an FFP2 mask). She said - now comes the dialect: “Habbe Sie des Opium und könnte sie mich mol domidd insprühe?”. Aha, Opium... also a name that carries a kind of expectation for the scent. If someone walked into a shisha bar, a grocery store, a car dealership, or a kebab shop with such a sentence, it would be quite a scene. But here, it can be placed. However, in this case, there was no Opium in the house, and the woman had to leave empty-handed. Without Opium...
Now back to Musk Noble. The seller I trust in the shop I trust (I recommend reading my story with Iris here) had a series of Guerlain bottles on the shelf. It inspired me to point to Musc Noble. Not the name or the manufacturer, nor the association that the name might have with the content, no, it was more the visual impression. That’s not unusual for me. I used to enjoy buying LPs with white covers featuring a guitar without knowing what I was buying. A few siblings from the bottle series were also there, including one that contained oud. And now I can shed light on one of the statements that also appeared here, that Musk Noble contains oud. So, the Guerlain that has oud in its name does have it. But Musc Noble does not have it for me. No matter how negatively some here supposedly reacted to oud. What I perceive here besides the rose is indeed the scent of iris. It is often included in fragrances, but it is rarely mentioned. It probably associates something that the marketing strategist does not like. But what was it about this scent that convinced me? Convincing is almost too technical. It happened when I sprayed it. There was a jolt inside me, a pleasant creeping of the rose and, in my opinion, a hint of iris. I still wonder how some people determine that the rose is synthetic. Was anyone present during the mixing? Well, whatever...
And then comes this assertiveness. The scent is hardly out of the bottle when it unleashes a magic that puts it fully in the spotlight. The spot with the Colognia Intense was immediately dead. Too weak... In any case, one cannot help but keep bringing the sprayed spot to the nose. The scent spreads. But not like a horde of wild guys overrunning everything, rather, it’s just as it should be. And nothing is forced, the scent places itself naturally in my world. As the development continues, everything integrates into my surroundings. No one wrinkles their nose, I feel happy and secure with the scent. Many might find this too superficial here. I’m only writing about impressions; I could also describe a few images that arise in me. But I’ll leave that for now. Just the fact that it is like this is enough for me. And that’s all that matters to me in a scent. If it can do something like that, then the name can also have nothing to do with the content.

Addendum on 30.05.21: I had to add something in the middle about what happened yesterday. It shouldn’t go unmentioned.

warm, rich, oriental and intoxicating: a deluxe fragrance with a suprisingly powerful sillage and a good longevity. Expensive masterpiece.

Where do the low scores come from in this line of Guerlain? Like a bad joke! The scent is fantastic and in the genius style of Mr Wasser.

Spicy rose-saffron-wood combination wrapped in powdery musk. Well done, but without a unique characteristic.

Misleading name
For me, it's an elegant, sensual rose scent (without oud!)
With a slightly spicy accord
& in the base, clean musk
Very nice!

Montale/Mancera has laid a fat cuckoo egg in the Guerlain nest! Nothing noble! Typical oriental with oud, saffron, rose, amber, and honey sweetness.

Where is the musk scent in this?, Just rose in a metallic bed with a hint of slightly sarcastic saffron.

In the base, a very sweet musk-rose. It has an animalistic touch due to the high dose. Ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Instead of the namesake musk, there's a heavy rose-oud-saffron punch here. Top quality, but far from my expectations :-o
