Sur la Route opens with a blast of hay that lasts for maybe about a minute. A smooth, fresh citrus then dominates for the remainder of its life, which isn't very long. I got about 4 hours of longevity. Projection was very mild after about the first 15 minutes. With the thousands of citrus-y freshies of all types available, asking $300+ for Sur la Route is laughable. I have not found it at discounters and would say it's worth about $80 tops.

Odd, interesting

Dry, musky, hot grass. It has a bit of an earthy cannabis quality to it. A really interesting fragrance, and a bit challenging - not in a bad way, necessarily. Seems good for spring, reminds me of smoking weed and playing soccer on the field in a park in high school. There is a hint of freshness underneath it all, but there is an odd quality to it that can be difficult to get past for some.

Not a blind buy, definitely try in a store or from a sample before buying. It's one of the more unique fragrances I've smelled.

Getting my lawnmower

I think a more adequate name for this perfume would be “Tondre la Pelouse”. I don’t know what route Mr Vuitton was thinking of, but I have a hard time thinking that you can find a road that starts with a single exquisite lemon tree and a very small, very fresh pepper bush followed by endless fields of dewy newly groomed British grass lawns. My travels along this route was “Wow, I want to go this way forever!” for the first ten minutes to “Could you please stop mowing the lawn!?” for the remainder of the trip. After six hours, when you arrive at your final destination, the lawn mowers finally stop. There is a very distant forest of Peru Balsam when you exit your vehicle, which is a pleasant, very (!) close to the skin, resting spot.

On the road of a New fragrance

tested yesterday during my visit to the Louis Vuitton store in Lyon Bellecour.

the 2018 collection seems to please me more after immensity which I very much appreciated and storm which I was very close to buying, I discovered on the road.

it's more of a mid-season, masculine scent. it's fresh and spicy and even has an appreciable light leather side to it, whereas I'm usually not a fan of this type of scent.

result, an olfactory discovery, a smell that I don't remember having ever smelled from another brand and a new Louis Vuitton perfume that comes to fill my perfume cabinet.

Fiat ride through tuscany fields with a Louis Bag on the backseats!

Still one of the best summer scents out there. The composition of citrus, bergamot and leather brings so many associations to my mind.

The first thing coming to my mind was a gentleman sitting in his vintage Fiat convertible car riding it through a summery evening in the middle of Tuscany. Having his leather Louis Vuitton weekender on laying on the back seats. The smell of fresh grass and nature in combination with fresh citrus and leather notes make the perfect summer scent.

It's not the fresh and sweet some may look for, but it gives you a strong push and nice standing for those who get to smell it on you.

Well done Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud!
