Fruit juice or a perfume?
I have a tester of Boss Orange Sunset to one side of me, and a glass of tropical fruit juice on the other. The similarities are pretty surprising.

Boss Orange Sunset is one of those typical fruity scents that attempt to emulate the scent of shampoo and sugary fruit juice. I didn't mind the original Boss Orange, which despite its sweetened and synthetic orange note, had a delightful creaminess. This Boss Orange Sunset however is too strong and juicy for my liking.

The lasting power and sillage are pretty amazing. For those that adore the smell of this, the quality is a plus, however for those like me that find this fragrance a bit of a headache-inducer, it can definitely get on your nerves.

Like I mentioned before, the orange is pretty dominant in this fragrance, so is the sugary note. There are some subtle floral accords, however they don't seem to be present until the drydown.

I'm a little underwhelmed by this fragrance, not that Hugo Boss is known for making anything outstanding but I like most of them. I will be interested to see how well this sells this Summer.

It is always an advantage to be underestimated...
The color of the bottle initially made me hesitate. Somehow, it suggested the scent of cloves/gingerbread to me.
I was very pleased when the fragrance finally unfolded on my skin! Fresh, warm, powdery. I like it a lot!

ADDITIONAL NOTE 23.01.2011:
I can no longer stand by my previous 70%. It now comes across as too synthetic to me. It's nice, but nothing more.

After the sunset
...floral...fruity...sweet... I distribute my clicks listlessly when categorizing this scent. How often have I clicked on "floral-fruity-sweet," and how often was the tested fragrance much better than this one...?! Often. Very often. And it's synthetic too, oh yes...

Hello-ho! The fragrance is called Sunset! SUNRISE!!! A new day begins, first with timid sunbeams, then with a dazzling bright sunlight. Carpe diem - seize the day, it seems to call, the sun, this warm, radiant bright orange-yellow-white sphere, without which our planet would be surrounded by eternal night, without which life on Earth would not be possible. One shakes off the fatigue despite a slight chill in the limbs and starts the morning in a good mood. THAT would be, for example, a sunrise.

Life without this fragrance, however, is very much possible compared to the sunless variant. For something like this, I don't get up; I'd rather draw the curtains, turn over, and continue snoring. It comes across to me as so annoyingly synthetic that I would prefer to wash it off. It is simply floral-fruity-sweet. Boring, unpleasant, synthetic. I can't smell any mandarin, no flowers, no freshness that should actually be somewhere. And the vanilla is just irritatingly cheap. As much as I like the original Boss Orange Woman, this one is simply unnecessary.

So nothing sunset, rather a mental blackout.

Gentle End of the Day
"BOSS Orange Sunset" is a fragrance that perfectly suits the winding down of a summer day for me. The heat of the day slowly fades away. You feel tired from a long, but very lovely summer day at the beach or by the pool. A refreshing shower has washed away sweat, sunscreen, chlorine, and salt smells from the body, and it’s time to sit on the terrace in a light, flowing summer dress, enjoy the last rays of sunshine, and then let the day come to an end in the glow of torches and lanterns.

For these hours, in my opinion, there is no better fragrance than "BOSS Orange Sunset." It is a soft, warm, gentle scent - I don't smell bergamot at all, but I do perceive the mandarin very strongly. The rose and white flowers can also be detected, but they remain pleasantly modest in the background for me, allowing the cheerful, sweet scent of the mandarins to dominate until the end. Vanilla is only hinted at, but it gives the fragrance a soothing delicacy.

The scent is subtle, and the sillage is hardly present. "BOSS Orange Sunset" is therefore not a summer night party fragrance. But for calm, warm summer evenings in the company of family or a few close friends, where you just want to lean back in a lounge chair and enjoy, it is the perfect fragrance.

golden brown
Today the sky hangs gray and heavy like lead over the city.
No, not a sky full of violins, but full of rain clouds.

My friend suggests a sniffing tour, which I willingly agree to.

In the store, I aim for a beautiful orange-gold-yellow shimmering bottle, which truly glows when I hold it up to the light.

Orange Sunset.

And the opening of bergamot and mandarin captivates me for it.
Citrusy - but warm.
The also warm rose brings a hidden violin in the sky to life.
The image of the sun rising from the horizon in the morning comes to life before my eyes.

I hum Golden Brown by the Stranglers:

Golden Brown texture like the sun
lays me down - with my mind she runs
Throughout the night
No need to fight
Never a frown - with golden brown.

The sweet, soft vanilla that hovers over the scent truly smooths the frown off my face.

This fragrance is gentle and tender, like the mild rays of the morning sun after a long night.

I treated myself to a bottle of this confident morning mood.

For me, it's a great scent, the sweet mandarin with a lovely vanilla note. Exactly my taste.

I have a special connection to this scent because it was my first fragrance. Mandarin with vanilla. A fall scent that lasts into winter.

A nice fresh and sweet-fruity scent. While not the best Boss by far, it’s still very wearable.

Initially citrusy-sour, until sweet mandarin and vanilla take over. My first perfume and will always be special.

Zesty mandarins, bergamot combo, rounded off with flowers on vanilla gives me summer/winter vibes, but unfortunately poor sillage.

Lives up to its name! My feel-good scent no matter what happens outside! Spicy, enveloping warmth, balancing. I love it!

Very flat and artificial. I'm not a fan of Boss Orange, but I like this one even less. Good thing there are small testers.
