A rose war is not a war for roses!
Hello you fragrance lovers!

Like almost every evening I brought a description of the fragrance with me. Today, however, to a fragrance that unfortunately no longer exists because it was one of those fragrances that were limited anyway and you can only approach such a fragrance with a little luck.

It's about the "Rock the Ages" collection by Jo Malone, which may sound like a rock festival of the last decades, but in fact it's a kind of history tour of some epochs of English history. Due to lack of samples I can only present this one fragrance here, namely "Tudor Rose & Amber", which is quite practical, because this fragrance represents the Tudor era and is the first station of this fragrance series, which should be located in the years 1485 - 1603. The other fragrances and thus epochs of history I will hopefully also be able to try with time.

But let's start with the Tudors, whose ruler (Heinrich Tudor) from the House of Lancaster defeated Richard III from the House of York during the Wars of the Roses, then married Princess Elizabeth from the House of York and thus became King Henry VII.
WAKE UP, WAKE UP! I know many people get a little bored during history classes, but it still goes a little further :D
So, open books, page 271, and there we learn that with what I have just told, the Wars of the Roses ended and both houses were united, whereby one may not imagine now that it was a war about or with roses :D
No, both conflict parties had a rose as their coat of arms or logo (House York had the white rose, House Lancaster the red rose), hence the name of the war! I think so! D
Since both houses were united after the war, the roses were also united, so that the Tudor Rose was now a white-red rose. Well, and now there's the scent to it :D

Hm... I'll say it again: Wake up people!
I hope you're still there and that the little history lesson hasn't bored you too much or even scared you away!

The fragrance:
Hm, somehow at the beginning you can smell everything that is listed below. Well well, I don't smell ginger yet, but everything else is present in different intensities right from the start. Matching the name, you smell the rose best, it smells beautiful, slightly acidic-floral, well, how roses smell, you know! D
There is also a small portion of carnations, but they are quite weak and you can only perceive them if you sniff them really close to the sprayed area. Amber, on the other hand, can be smelled better and, as so often, it smells quite nice with its bright-sweetish scent.
It's only gradually that I can smell the ginger. But there are also some other floral notes. These appear a little heavier and even slightly muggier, making the fragrance a little more mature. However, this impression does not remain so long. Well, the fragrance makes a lush impression as far as floral notes are concerned, but very soon it's at least not sultry or even overwhelming, which I think is good. In any case, the fragrance also gets a little warmer, which many might also like.
Later he still smells the most of roses with a nice amber sweetness. All other scents are then too weak to be mentioned further. Much later, however, the amber is a little more in the foreground and the fragrance also appears slightly spicier. Generally a beautiful fragrance, although nothing really new when it comes to rose fragrances, but beautiful.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is good, no firecracker, but just good and for a while with it good at one smellable. Yes, I'm writing "on one", because despite the unisex label here is the fragrance, once again..., definitely a women's fragrance! The shelf life is quite good, there are eight hours loosely in it. Actually even more, but at a rather late stage the scent is very close to the body, and it's great to sniff the scent on your arm or something from time to time :)

The bottle:
Hmm... while I find Jo Malone's standard flacons a bit boring, I often like the special editions of the limited edition fragrances better. The Tudor fragrance comes in a 30 mL large, rectangular and narrow bottle, as you already know it from the 30 mL versions of the Malone bottles. Except this one's got a nice wine red label. On the chrome-plated lid a wine-red fabric or suede was attached (I'm not sure, because I didn't have the bottle in my hand), which also looks very nice. Yes, I think the bottle is quite beautiful!

Soo, I almost expected it, but I think the fragrance is great. Of course he is nothing for us gentlemen and also some ladies don't seem to like rose scents so much, but if you don't have a dislike for rose scents, you could have a look at this scent here. Well, of course that will be difficult, because the scent is no longer there and it was limited anyway, but just in case you should see it somewhere...
And if it doesn't, it's not really bad now either.

To be honest, the fragrance is good, but it smells like many other beautiful rose fragrances (of course, every fragrance has its little differences, but sometimes you would have to look for them with a magnifying glass, oh you know what I mean!), so that you don't miss too much, except maybe a nice bottle. That's actually only bad for fans of the brand who want to collect these limited fragrances, olfactorily there are a lot of similar ones.

Otherwise, this fragrance is or was for me a women's fragrance that could have been used as an all-rounder. So at any time of the year, on many occasions. Yep, nice stop! Well then, have a nice evening and a nice weekend :)
