Citrusy rose and fruits for spring
The name "Citrus 08" is a bit misleading, this is not a pure citrus scent or even very citrus-focused. It's a feminine fruity floral with a lot of rose, musk, rhubarb and black currant. The fresh pink grapefruit floats above the other notes, it's definitely noticeable, but not the star of the show. To my nose this is roughly in the same family as YSL In Love Again, which it shares a lot of notes with.
It starts out tart and fruity with a lot of rhubarb. Due to the grapefruit this rhubarb is even sourer than usual, it even feels kind of mouth-puckering. If scents had a color, this would be a cool-toned red. As it dries down, the tart fruit get tamed by the rose and clean white musk. The finale is surprisingly powdery and floral on my skin.
Another aspect that surprised me about this is that it works much better in mildly warm than truly hot weather. I once tried it on a very warm and muggy day and it turned way too powdery and stale on me, with a weird oakmoss note like some old leftover perfume from who-knows-when and old eyeshadow. Therefore I would classify this mostly as a spring fragrance, at least for my own skin.
This is neither my favorite Kayali, nor my favorite fruity rose or rhubarb scent, but it's pretty and likeable and not just another boring citrus.
I think it would also work great for layering.
