The first disappointing Kayali fragrance
I love Kayali fragrances, they convey a feminine elegance and femininity without being overpowering or too much. So far I have never hesitated to blindly buy a full size of the fragrances. After Vanilla Oud literally pulled the rug out from under my feet, I was convinced that Café Oud simply has to be good.
Bought it, sprayed it and froze in shock. Had something been bottled wrong? Instead of coffee with notes of rose, musk and vanilla, the perfume smells STRONGLY of rose, extract-like, stuffy, acrid. Simply too much. Definitely not a rose that you see blooming in the garden and like to stick your nose in as you walk past. The rose scent drowns out everything, probably due to the combination with oud. If this is what café oud smells like, what can I expect from rosé oud? No, I don't want to know.
So I put it in the cupboard for the time being in the hope that it might just need a little time to develop properly. Trial 2 I even sprayed it on my leg, out of nose reach - just in case.
Conclusion: An absolute miss for me. The smell had to be desperately washed off the second time after a few hours of "enduring and waiting" - and even then it wasn't completely gone. It has no silage, is quite linear. I won't be buying another fragrance from the oud range.
