Vanilla cloud
This perfume smells so unique that I can hardly put it into words. Before buying it, I searched for a long time for reviews that were not sponsored and hardly found any, so I am happy to give a completely unfiltered review here for anyone who wants to know what to expect from Vanilla Oud.
Before I bought it, I had no connection to oud at all. Some kind of wood, quite rare, from Asia. Nice, but I don't really want to smell like a carpenter's workshop. But as vanilla and musk are still my favorite scents, I couldn't resist. So okay, I'll just go all-in with a 50ml bottle. No risk, no fun.
The first spray was a direct "BAM! In your face!". Sensual vanilla, no sweet extract, no spice, nothing tart, something I've never smelled before. Slightly powdery, like a cloud that envelops you. Musk and something creamy are added in the dry-down. Definitely not a gourmand fragrance but also not synthetic, woody or aromatic-tart.
The vanilla doesn't smell edible, someone on the outside probably wouldn't even expect to smell vanilla. I can't smell the rose and pear. There is nothing fruity or floral about the fragrance. It's like a creamy, fluffy cloud that envelops you warmly. Mature but not old. It is a fragrance that is so unique that it stands out and stands apart. The perfect combination of presence and inconspicuousness, sex appeal and innocence.
After two weeks of ownership, the bottle is still half-full. Replenishment is on the way. No 0815 vanilla.
