Is it already Christmas?
Super fragrant, amazing, and absolutely delicious that I would drink it if I could!!!!!!!!
After Tendre Madeleine, I already knew which direction Figue Sauvage was going; the sample was nice, but too small (Hihihihihi)...
Today my 100ml bottle arrived! A relatively small package, but very well packed; some samples fell out at first. Then the box, wrapped in cellophane. I eagerly tore open the cellophane, then slowly opened the box and took out the bottle.
The color in the photo is exactly like the original, a light, watery lavender.
And then, cap off and sprayed. Immediately, I felt transported back to old times, when it was just before Christmas, we baked cookies with Mom, and the kitchen was filled with the scent of baked goods while we nibbled on dried figs that were so sweet and so delicious. I loved them as a child, even though I only got to see them in dried form back then.
Today I know what the tree and the leaves look like and smell like, and that the green figs in Spain are called Higos and the blue figs are Brebas.
This scent leans more towards Brebas. They smell and taste different from the green ones, which are mainly sweet. Brebas are more intense in scent and flavor and not quite as sugary sweet as the greens. And that is reflected in the fragrance as well.
I can't stop sniffing my wrist.
The bergamot and green notes disappear very quickly after application, but you can clearly notice them; they create an interesting opening for what comes next. The slightly bitter note of the bergamot then gives way to the soft, sweet fig.
Soft and sweet, with the violet in the background, which I didn't notice at first, but it's there! It really highlights the aroma of the fig. However, I couldn't identify the ylang-ylang in the top note. I will pay attention to it in the future and update if I can perceive it after all.
Slowly, veeeery slowly, the fragrance transitions into the woody base note, where neither the vanilla nor the sandalwood dominate, but rather emphasize the softness so that the fig can continue to spread its beautiful, creamy, warm scent.
For me, it’s an absolute stroke of luck that I discovered Laurence Dumont and his "Les Senteurs Gourmandes" series. The fragrances are priced absolutely reasonably, as what you get is clearly worth much more.
Will I get them all??? Let's see what my husband says ;-D.
To all friends and lovers of gourmet fragrances: This one is an absolute hit and definitely worth buying.
