Insensé galore!
What a beautifully dark and rich scent. The aptly named Fiery Night is a wondrous experience. It reminds me of a Moroccan bazaar. Incense is king in this fragrance. The longevity is great, it lasts the whole day and more. Same goes with projection, people will know you've entered the room.

A masterpiece
Clearmy underrated
Congratulation lv for this fragrance

Forgive me, Father.
Personal: 6.5/10 - I really respect the artistry, but it's way too dark, resinous, and smoky for me.
Mass appeal: 4.5/10 - Most people are going to find the smoke overwhelming. Polarizing.
Performance: 9/10 - This thing projects like a beast. Sticks around and makes sure you know.
Value: 5/10 - LV pricing is steep, and though its quality is undeniable, it's too hard to wear.
Uniqueness: 9/10 - A masterclass in incense and smoke with resins. It's extremely unique.
SCORE: 68/100

Full bottle buy? NO, it's more art than wearable.
Blind buy? NO, absolutely not. The darkness is too polarizing, along with the high price.
Recommend? YES, only to people who want to smell like the color black. Or a church.
Date night? NO, it's too dark and mysterious to feel alluring. It's almost off-putting.
Office safe? NO, unless your office is in a vicarage. Or if you want an email from HR.

Pros: Incredibly high quality artistic perfumery. As good as smoke and resins come.
Cons: Overhwleming, expensive, and basically unwearable. Not for everyone.

Look, I don't love it, but I love what it IS, if that makes sense. It's very unique and very polarizing, which I actually kind of appreciate about it. It's unapologetically dark, and though that makes it hard to wear, I do think some people could totally pull this off. Not me. But some people could! I want to love it, but I can't, and that's okay, because its role is to be appreciated, not loved. It's unique, artistic, and one of the best blends I've smelled. And for the price, I'd hope so! But, it's still far from something you could reach for, even once a week.

I strongly recommend smelling it, but I do NOT recommend buying a whole bottle. Unsurprisingly, this LV fragrance has yet to be cloned, haha.

*Review #27 in my fragrance journey - this fragrance I own as a decant*

The Fragrance of Balance
Nuit de Feu. Louis Vuitton. Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud. Keywords that evoke associations, opinions, and thoughts in many minds. I ask critics to mute these "thoughts" for a moment.

I like to describe the fragrance hobby as a journey. You set off with an empty backpack. This backpack gets filled and emptied again throughout the journey. You meet companions and fellow travelers. You exchange ideas and even get to know yourself. You grow with and through your fragrances.

In the summer of 2017, I was browsing "Aus Liebe zum Duft" as I was looking for a birthday gift. I stumbled upon the perfume categories, getting closer to the individual fragrance notes. Much of it felt familiar and understandable, but then I read: incense, myrrh, leather, balsamic.
My thoughts: "How, what, wow? There are incense and resins in fragrances?"

A few months and sample orders later, I registered here under the name "Weihrauch" (Willi Tonka was unfortunately already taken, just kidding).

I don't want to come across as arrogant, as I've "only" tested about 600 fragrances and I actually have a good 100,000 ahead of me. Nevertheless, I am currently experiencing so-called "Pinnacle" moments (explanation: highlights, peaks). By now, I can identify clear favorites, whether among certain brands or even entire fragrance categories (this definitely includes that I have tested all relevant candidates for me).

Nuit de Feu is part of my personal "Pile of Pinnacle." More specifically: It is, for me, the best smoky, balsamic, "woody" fragrance. Why...?

...because it is, for me (as mentioned in my blog), in balance. It strikes the golden mean between wearability and concept. Between courage and restraint. Between endurance and calm. Between quality and serenity. Between the crystallization of individual notes and their merging into a greater whole.
It doesn't matter whether Louis Vuitton launched this fragrance or Areej Le Doré.

I picked up a great definition of Nuit de Feu: The fragrance doesn't smell like standing in a burning forest, but like a burning forest outside the city. And I think that captures it very well.

Thank you for reading and thus for your most precious gift, time.

Day of Money
Rarely have I looked forward to a new fragrance as much as I have to Nuit de Feu by Louis Vuitton. This is because I have a fondness for oud-incense combinations. Incense itself is often too dry for me and not heavy enough. Oud makes incense something heavy, dark, and mystical when dosed adequately. That's exactly what the creation with the name Night of Fire promised.

But everything turned out differently. This fragrance opens with a Solomonic incense, extraordinarily similar to that in Montale Full Incense. Perhaps a bit of resin and musk, but at most very in the background. Incense clearly dominates. This interpretation of incense smells to my nose like open-pored wood. So much so that I was tempted to name Dior's Bois d'Argent as a fragrance twin. Perhaps it is this association that prevents me from categorizing this scent as belonging to the night.

After a while, leather notes, musk, and a bit of oud come into play. The leather is quite noticeable and I would describe it as significantly contributing to the DNA. Incense remains in the foreground. The oud merely supports in the background. This distinguishes Nuit de Feu from Ombre Nomade, where oud plays a leading role. Here, the development is also somewhat different from Montale Full Incense. And also different from Bois d'Argent, as there is more citrus involved there.

The fragrance is undoubtedly wonderfully crafted and will be very pleasing to those who enjoy Montale's Full Incense. It has an absolute right to exist. It’s just not what I hoped for. A very bright, not dark incense scent. Unfortunately, my search for an oud-incense breaker does not yet come to an end. I need to take another look at Ombre Nomade. Perhaps it is the right one for me.

Conclusion: Great fragrance, unfortunately not as I subjectively expected. Recommendation for purchase for all true incense lovers who also appreciate bright and thus somewhat authentic incense creations. However, I would strongly recommend trying Full Incense by Montale before purchasing, to avoid paying too much. Cheers!

Very nice incense, labdanum & oud. I’m surprised this is rated so low, not challenging at all to my nose. Sillage is meh, longevity is good

Severely disappointed on this one. At the LV store I must have gotten my sprayed cards wrong. This smells like the Zoo, specifically the elephant are.

Nice smoky learhery creation. However, not something so outstanding to justify the totally arbitrary ridiculous price.

Initially smoky spicy-green, a resinous and dry, slightly animalic, smoky-leathery Winter fragrance, balanced by a warm musky-woody base.

More smoky than incense-heavy. At first, I even find it a bit floral. It ends on a creamy sweet note. The first Vuitton I actually like.
