Soapy, bubbly and warm
This was my most anticipated scent from the Replica discovery set, and I was quite worried that it wouldn't be what I wanted it to be. Coconut being one of the base notes had me concerned that it would be overpowering, like the coconut cream that really put me off of Beach Walk.
Initially, I wasn't quite sure about Bubble Bath. I think I had this idea in my head of what it would be like - soapy, steamy, almost chemically clean. This fragrance definitely isn't that, and for the first half an hour of wearing it I was really on the fence with how it made me feel. It took about another hour for the patchouli and musk to come through, and by then I knew exactly what this scent was about - and I was firmly on board.
Bubble Bath is a fragrance that captures the moment you've just got out of the bath. Soap suds might still cling to your shoulders, there's warmth in the air and a lovely creamy scent of body lotion. You're wrapped in a warm towel, and enjoying a few more moments of calm before stepping back into the real world.
This scent is surprisingly long lasting, especially for a Maison Margiela Replica fragrance - I've found many others in this set lacking in their longevity. However, even after a full day of being out and about I was still able to smell this quite clearly. It's hypnotically addictive, something about it had me holding my wrist to my nose at multiple points throughout the day.
Definitely one of the better scents from the discovery kit, and maybe the only one so far that I'd be interested in purchasing a full bottle of.
