Wonderfully milky dry-down

The opening of this is definitely a little soapy and minty, but it doesn't take long for the milk note to come out and I find it SO moreish! A hint of the mint note stays around in the background of the dry-down, and to me this is a good thing because it prevents the scent from becoming sickly-sweet and gives it some dimension.

At one of the study desks, someone sips a takeout coffee...

You're in a large, old fashioned library on a cool, quiet afternoon. It's a little bit cloudy outside. There are a few other people here, but not too many. Standing in one of the aisles in front of a bookshelf, you guess someone wearing lavender was probably just in the exact spot you were just standing in. You smell traces of that calming floral, but cannot identify its source. At one of the study desks, someone sips a takeout coffee. You peruse slowly, nothing on your schedule.

When wet on skin, the lavender is strong, with just a hint of coffee behind it. The coffee is not strong, but it's also impossible to miss, and it adds a wonderful complexity. Upon drydown, this transforms into a creamy floral wood scent.

Coffee Break

It delivers what it promises—coffee candy, lactonic milk, and soapy lavender. At first thought, I'll admit it's very "messy brunette bun and off-shoulder cardigan" energy. You know, pretty and girl-coded.

But that isn't to say a guy couldn't wear it either. I actually would be really interested to see how it wears on a guy. It'd be great on a relaxed weekend morning, a sort of "making coffee in your underwear" kind of vibe. I think the lavender smells aromatic and green instead of sugared, which makes the whole thing feel a little bit more elevated.

Surprise fragrance

I was not expecting to like this as someone who dislikes coffee. I don't like a lot of coffee fragrances, for example coffee addict. First time I smelled this, I was unsure as to what I thought about this. Then I was surprised at the dry down which was mindblowing. This is a softer fragrance (still good longevity), suitable for warmer weather (not heat) unlike most gourmands in my opinion. The second time I smelled it, I fell in love. So this is going on my wish list. The sample set of Replica is great for trying out their fragrances!

Cozy Coffee Shop

This scent delivers on the promise of unisex, dark academia, coziness. It opens with a gender neutral but still sweet and edible blend of fruits and coffee. After about 15 minutes, the masculine middle notes man it up for a little while. After it fully settles, the creaminess of the milk and wood notes tones down the manliness from earlier. This smell lingers for days on my sweater. Very very cozy.

This scent is perfect for gourmand season and cooler weather. It's alright in the spring as well but can be somewhat cloying in the summer. As far as cozy vibes go, I prefer this scent to Autumn Vibes (smells like a craft store in October) or By the Fireplace (pure wood smoke on a camping trip). I enjoyed my sample a lot, but don't foresee myself repurchasing this. If I were a man, HOO BOY I'd already have a backup bottle.
