Maison Margiela's Rehab
Per its marketing, Maison Margiela's Ideal One is meant to evoke the feeling of "Fantasy in a Fragrance" and elicit the primal intimacy of two lovers/soulmates. To my nose, the main inspiration is Rehab as Ideal One also manages to successfully execute a sweet, gender-less, mainstream-appealing musk.
SCENT: The musk-driven muted lavender I got upon first spray immediately reminded me of Rehab. There's woody sweetness in the mid and dry down, but this is a musk-driven scent throughout the wearing. It's quite nice - and a bit of a change from the rest of MM's 'Replica' line up. It's also slightly sweeter though not as full-bodied or fully realized as Rehab.
LONGEVITY: Lasted just over 6 hours on my skin before becoming a barely perceptible skin scent.
SILLAGE: I got about 1.5 hours of solid projection. Surprisingly, I continued to catch pleasant whiffs of it for the next few hours afterwards.
BOTTLE: Relatively uninspired. Exactly like the other replica bottles but with a black label - like Flying.
VALUE FOR MONEY: Full retail is $220. Definitely not worth that, IMO. I recommend waiting for it to eventually turn up on discounters.
