Pleasant but largely unsung - Doesn't budge at all!
Pearl had been sitting undisturbed on my wish-list for months, occasionally catching my eye and I, subsequently ignoring it in favour of other fragrances. I've been a faithful fan of the fig note in fragrances. It's unarguably one of my top favourite notes in creation, in most of its nuances and incarnations and that is how Pearl landed in my list of wants. Still, I never seriously pursued to test or sample it, which I now recognise was an error on my part.

Initially, I kept overlooking it because of mild skepticism, a feeling prompted by the mention of 'vegetal accords' in one of the comments I had come across under the fragrance's reviews. I'm not particularly fond of fragrances that are prominently green/herbal/leafy, hence my hesitation. To make things even worse, I unconsciously started associating Pearl with Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Nil due to the 'vegetal' reference. Again, not a fragrance I liked and certainly not a rational association either. Anyway, despite all the pessimism, Pearl still somehow managed to remain one of the Manceras I was fervently in anticipation of.

Fast forward a few months later, a loved one shared with me a hard-to-miss deal on Pearl which instantly revived my interest in it. I was reassured I wouldn't regret the purchase and was easily convinced with as little as my rampant enthusiasm for fig. Boy, have I made my proclivities well-known.. This time though, I didn't cripple myself with analysis-paralysis and predictively gave in without much fight. It was going to be a blind-buy and the days leading up to the delivery I spent both in excitement and impatience. My nervousness continued up until the last moment but as soon as the first spray left the atomizer, I found myself sighing with contentment and personal fulfillment. "OH MY GOD" was the only reaction my pleasantly surprised self could formulate.

There are indeed few indulgences more easily satisfying than warming our hands over fire on an unforgivingly cold and gloomy night. One such pleasure is an unexpected olfactory amazement instigated by finding a sense of success and satisfaction in a blind-buy. Pearl had an almost similar impact on me, favourably influencing me by its cheerful composition.

It opens up with a lightly-dosed bergamot, immediately allowing the star notes to come into central focus, i.e, fig, green apple and white peach. I find the slightly sweet juiciness of the fruits quite delightful. Despite the sweet juiciness, Pearl feels surprisingly diaphanous, allowing it to pose as borderline fresh thanks to the slow revelation of a generous floral heart, which makes it more treacherous to its assumed fruity disposition. I'm stating this in a positive light. It's a very likeable Mancera by niche standards, supremely feminine in its aroma and delightfully fresh, meant to be savoured best on a pleasant spring/summer day. Despite the freshness, it lasts and lasts and has an equally impressive sillage. The base is, as usual, musky - soft, clean, ever so slightly sweet and with a fruity tonality. To my nose, very reminiscent of the drydown experienced in Versace Eros pour femme, without its sharp, citrusy character. I'm smitten!

A Busser'l
I deleted the previously used poem so there wouldn't be any trouble. It's a pity, I associate scents with such beautiful thoughts, even if they aren't necessarily mine.
You can read it if you want at:
(Christian Jeblick) www.verserl.de
**
Säusel - just like that, Pearl has enchanted me, powdery, softly rosy, creamy. Creamy and becoming creamier, as if you were adding 80% fat mascarpone to a bowl - like the country love woman - and slowly starting to stir. A Busser'l roses, a Busser'l green leaves, a Busser'l orange blossoms, and you can already smell how lightly floral-fruity it becomes. A rich, satisfied smacking comes from the bowl, it gets creamier and creamier, and you see the stirring paths filled with roses, mandarins, lily of the valley...
Almost finished, the bowl is then placed on a bed of musk and oak moss, gently, so nothing gets crushed. It smells - I can only repeat it - creamy and floral, slightly bitter, delicately unsweet. Appealing, feminine, inviting "come here - hug me" and becomes very, very loving and intimate on me.
A bright, radiant scent!

Army of Fragrances
When the time machine accidentally transported me to the future in the back room of the perfumery, I found myself confronted with the invasion of evil there as well. The undead were trying to take over the perfumery. They stood in front of the display window, pressing their noses against it. Due to a Kärcher accident, I had already lost my right hand in the last part (Dance of the Fragrances).

Someone threw me a bottle of Pearl. Without thinking, I sprayed it on myself and immediately regretted it. I started to whine, even though I am actually the great hero of the story. The branch manager of the perfumery, who reminded me a lot of Familiar Tester M, couldn't understand what my problem was. After all, the scent was fruity and floral, like most women's fragrances of recent years. He announced that he liked the fragrance. Maybe it’s really my fault that I don’t like this oily load of Ambrox on green apples? Has the time machine affected my nose or is this a cabal of the powerful Parfumonicon? Is it perhaps the Holy Hand Edge that is bothering me so much?

Meanwhile, the undead were already at the door, trying to get in. The branch manager suddenly became frightened and advised me to stick the bottle on my arm stump, which by now smelled less foul and more like violets, and use it to scare off the undead. "A scent that can wake the dead," he tried to joke, which didn’t sit well with me. "If you spray enough, you might even be able to set the undead on fire," he mused. So I stuck the bottle on and started spraying. The whole room was filled with Pearl. The Ambrox formed oily puddles on the floor. The rushing undead slipped on it, we easily overpowered them, and once again I managed to escape. We really didn’t want a fire in the store.

Pearl is probably more for women. Women and their surroundings should definitely not be sensitive when it comes to Ambroxan. Ideally, it would be people who find the smell of Ambroxan pleasant. Ambroxan anosmics would be okay too. I believe there are more of both than one might think. After all, Ambroxan is a fragrance ingredient that is being used more and more frequently. If everyone found it as stinky as I do, that would be unfortunate. And I certainly don’t think the perfume industry is foolish. Quite the opposite.

You can use Pearl in the fight against evil, but also in the fight against me or other Ambroxan haters. Otherwise, I’m at a loss again.

But it probably smells much better on you than on me, and you’re not such wimps who whine when the Ambroxan binds your nose hairs into braids. Yes, yes, that’s fine. In any case, Familiar Tester M liked it... or something..

Thank you, dear Hasi, for the sample.

Herb-green Opening with Floral Heart
Mancera is a brand that I discovered for myself, as I have mentioned in other comments about this brand. Even though it doesn't resonate with many on this platform: I find it to be affordable in the niche department, and especially many everyday fragrances are available in their range. Also for other occasions (e.g. the Aoud series), but mainly pleasant daytime scents with good performance.
This Pearl was sent to me as a sample with an order. I hadn't really had it on my radar, as I tend to test unisex and especially men's fragrances. Sometimes, however, I also order samples for women, since one occasionally gives them as gifts.

This Pearl is a floral scent. It is listed here as floral-green, with the green being more active in the opening and quickly receding into the background. I am not a big fan of overly green fragrances. I don't find them bad, but green notes don't really grab me. Here, the start is well done. It reminds me a little of Hermes - Un jardin sur le Nil, which I own. It's not a twin, but it has that vibe of fresh-herbaceous plants. Like in a tropical garden. Here you get beautiful herb-green leaves paired with a subtle citrus note. As I said: this doesn't last too long, and this scent transforms into a floral garden. The herb-green notes are only slightly active, and you get a lovely floral freshness. Very feminine, slightly powdery, well-groomed, sexy, and well-suited for many occasions. This floral mix is very seductive, and in my opinion, no note stands out too much. Jasmine, lily of the valley, orange blossom, and rose all contribute accents to this floral heart. Well done and finely balanced. Not too much like many floral bombshells. Very crowd-pleasing and suitable for everyday wear. The base is rather subtle and ordinary. The star for me is definitely the heart note from about the 2nd hour. Overall, from start to finish, a great creation that I really like and would suit women well. It is also very versatile in terms of age. From young to old, as this creation offers a very well-groomed but modern touch.
The performance is very good in terms of longevity. This scent lasts for many hours. The sillage is good, but never too much. This makes it a very good everyday fragrance that also fits formal activities.

Thumbs up from me. Especially on warmer days, a successful alternative.

Pearl before Swine
Why do I have so many niche fragrances in my "To be tested samples" chest? Maybe because I like to jump over and, in the best case, beyond my limits and dislikes?

"Pearl" is a floral fig that softens and wins hearts with its almost fruity greenness. Unfortunately, not mine. At least not entirely. It is simply too much fig through and through. But for fans of this type, that’s more of a pro. I just very rarely warm up to this green floral fluffiness. "Pearl" is no positive exception in that regard. Although it is good. Peach, rose, and musk try to counteract with a very velvety and soft touch, but it’s not quite enough. However, I can definitely understand the praise. If you are looking for one of the juiciest fig gardens on the market, you’ve come to the right place. Floral heart, a lot of colorful flowers on a dewy fresh meadow. A spring freshy with great empathy and fragrance intelligence.

Bottle: lovely
Sillage: green and successful
Longevity: 6-7 hours, then it becomes washed out to the point of insignificance

Conclusion: those who want figs must be friendly!

this one was quite a surprise. 100% unisex. Sweet fig with fresh and uplifting florals - I may have to dive into the female manceras

Very unisex...fig dominant that is backed up by peach apple and the white flowers. Summer spring. Powdery so some may say feminine. Not me.

Wonderful scent. Juicy green meets feminine flowers. Plus, it's pleasantly fresh like a garden in summer. Ladies, give it a try!

Sweet fig, sweet blooms & somehow green. Too much / too little of everything, feels a bit unrefined to me. Just a (scent) pearl in name.

Oh how delicate and smooth you are, powdery. Wrapped in rosy notes and adorned with orange blossom. Not sweet but wonderfully creamy.

Herb and green, like wide fields after a heavy rain
the few flowers bent by the heavy drops

Like a bite into a white peach, maybe even a mountain peach. The fruity, slightly green fig joins in. Mega!

Floral? Not really. For me, it's very herbal, very green, unsweetened, cool. I'm not sure yet if I really like it.

Phew, it's intense! Green...bitter, too harsh. From afar, I can hear the bells of lily of the valley. Nothing else floral on me. A walk in the fern forest in the rain.

Rose on a bed of green leaves, initially a bit strict and tart, then it becomes softer and more embracing. Still looking for the pearl...!
