Varied fig, floral, fruity, tobacco blend, with some range
Sampling Mancera Fig Me Up, a 2025 release, a mixed sharp, sweet, floral blend that’s not so fig-intense but rather a blend of various elements, a sort of choral ensemble of notes that suggests its purple coloration a bit, with notes of violet and fig leaf blending with plum, geranium, tobacco, and musk. The opening is sharper and more floral, whereas the dry down feels more like a blended unisex tobacco scent. I think it’ s a nice option that does not immediately remind me of any other Mancera/Montale scents, but definitely has a general familiarity and 3-season wearability, being an interesting option except perhaps in extreme heat, in my opinion. I don’t feel that it is too loud or overbearing in any one area, and is not especially fig-heavy as its name might otherwise suggest, though the fig is certainly there, a great counterpoint to the violet in the opening.

Fig Me Up is EDP concentration and has the standard brand pricing of $190/125 for 120/60ml, sold in the US via the house site, some department stores, and great boutiques like Ministry of Scent. Presumably it will be available on the secondary market at some point, as is generally the case with Mancera and Montale offerings.

Overall, I like it, even if I’m not especially moved by it, but I’m thinking that this is one example of a fragrance that I need to wear a bit more, perhaps revisiting another time. Still, it’s very good and certainly worth sampling for fans of the brand and their many multifaceted offerings.

The different facets of fig
Fig is an interesting note. It's a delicious fruit in real life, but in perfume, it's often green or even milky, not juicy and sweet like biting into a ripe fig is. I'm always on the lookout for fig fragrances that are really fruity and don't just smell like leaves. The mention of fig nectar as a heart note, the addition of plum and rhubarb and the rich purple liquid gave me high hopes for Fig Me Up.

Well, while this is more fruity than leafy, it's not what I imagined. For some reason it smells really peppery in the opening. Imagine a slightly underripe fig sprinkled with black pepper. The rhubarb only adds tartness, like citrus would, but doesn't stand out.

As it dries down, the scent takes a u-turn. The fig and any fruitiness leave the scene as the base notes unfold. It's still a little peppery, but much warmer than at first. I would describe the drydown as powdery and ambery. None of the notes stand out, but reading it's supposed to be toffee, tobacco, tonka and white musk does make sense. Sandalwood, too, even though that's a heart note here. Just a smooth, slightly sweet collection of warm notes.

In my opinion this scent is better suited for men, or people who like men's fragrances in general. Especially in the opening, the drydown is more classically unisex. I can't really fault a unisex scent for not being feminine enough for me, but I wouldn't choose it for myself. I can imagine that it would be nice on someone else. Just don't expect a super sweet, juicy ripe fig, that's not what this is.

Nicely Done Mancera
This is a really nice one. As someone else already noted, it's unlike any other from Pierre Montale, which I find rare these days. It seems like most frags from him are remixes of DNA that's already in the library. The opening is fruity and unique, and also my favorite part. This dries down into a green woody scent, light powdery notes. Definitely unisex, and friendly with most seasons and times of day. I will update with a full review after a few more wears.

Rhubarb of my dreams
I think this is the rhubarb white whale scent I've been searching for. It's sweet but doesn't cancel out the tartness, and the jammy green fig is a delicious complement. The woodiness hits me before the fruity elements, on the skin test. The violet dries down and reveals a lovely creamy base. I'm obsessed with this and it feels like Indigo by NEST's outgoing sister. Got a good 8 hours of this before fading to a skin scent.

Initially fresh and fruity, then creamy fig scent
I cannot understand the reviews. I don't find it citrusy at all. Already green at the beginning, but more of a tropical, fresh, subtle green that has just begun to bloom. Then something very fruity comes, which soon becomes sweet and creamy. Like fig tea. Or white tea with fig, a bit of syrup on top, but always with a touch of freshness. It performs well in the fresh air. Just when you think it has already faded, a lovely hint comes back.

A really beautiful scent, which unfortunately does not last very long.

Edit: I have had it for almost a month now and find that it is even better, or rather more intense now. I can confidently raise the sillage rating.

Quiet green fig, powdery notes, generic florals, smooth oud. Unremarkable to me.

I pick up on a weak fig note, but I mostly get musk and oud with a hint of florals, possibly geranium. Those prone to migraines, beware.

Violet comes on strong first. Almost scared me off. But then the fig and woods bring masculinity. Bottle is among the best.

Acidity, creaminess, green notes, and sweet accents come together in a very complex scent. So far, the best Mancera I've tested.

Quote from my husband: “Huh, fig? It takes courage to wear that outside, doesn’t it?” I kind of like it though. It’s unique and woody...

I don't smell fig, but it's better than the reviews say. A solid freshy for fans of green scents.

Initially very green, almost sour; later just flat sweet - the next disappointment from this house.

Very citrusy = rhubarb? + weirdly woody = both overpower everything: no gourmand or sweet notes, no oud, reminds me of men's fragrances from the 70s + 80s.
