Orange & oud candy
Sweet and caramel scent with a slight hint of oud. The oud wood is remarkable but the perfume does not have the animalistic, medicinal or fecal character that oud usually has, but the dark wood part. Even so, for me the sweet part wins the battle in the perfume, the mixture of vanilla, caramel and orange, which makes it a delicious perfume, for me quasi gourmand despite its oriental point. It is an amber and balsamic perfume perfect for nights especially in cold seasons. Performance is pretty average ...

A sexy orange-oud
I had such a small decant of this, at first I didn´t even dare to waste it by spraying it on myself so I kept sniffing it from the decant. I did finally test it on skin too and it´s incredibly sexy. Orange, cinnamon, caramel, oud. Very sweet. I would classify this as a ´safe´ oud since it´s not stinky but rather just woody.

Nothing I´ve smelled before since oud is done way too often in combination with a rose or raspberry.

a very special sweet passion
This "Secret of Love" is sweet; as sweet as some dolci that can only be enjoyed by Central Europeans with a strong espresso. But then completely and with a satisfied purr!
A heavy southern dessert wine also fits well into the picture that this fragrance paints.
This "Passion" would be a joy for any pastry chef in terms of its scent progression.

Now, it is well known that I am not exactly one of those with a sweet tooth; especially not when it comes to fragrances.
Here, I tend more towards the floral direction, and recently even into the deep and mysterious darkness of incense and other resins!
But this "Passion" captivated me from the very first whiff. Oh, what am I saying: I was enthralled!

Just the opening with orange and cinnamon, freed from a light oud veil of "Christmas market flair," delights me. It spreads the feeling of warmth from a gentle and loving embrace!
Caramel and cashmere: two of my personal passions - one on the skin, the other as a dessert, usually from a mold - seduce me here into dreaming.
They transport me to a very tender world between "day and dream," which sometimes simply should not end.
Here, this dream is refinedly topped: a collection of the most erotic scents makes its presence known!
Sandalwood and "my darling" patchouli are embedded here in a resinous spice of benzoin and passionately embraced by a not-so-sparing portion of musk!
This successful blend must have been created by a lover.

The longevity on me lasts several hours, with the woody-resinous note surprisingly dominating after some time.
This is quite remarkable for a "fish blood" with relatively low warmth development, and therefore noteworthy.

This "Secrets of Love - Passion" sample will therefore not end up as a "wander sample."
It will accompany me for some time; how long depends on the immediate and distant circumstances.

Whether it is spring that makes me so receptive to this scent, or if there are other reasons, I do not wish to question.
What is certain is that this fragrant passion has truly grabbed me!
I will simply surrender to it and hope to be able to say later: "Je ne regrette rien!"!

Nice is unfortunately not passionate enough
My first encounter with this EdP was approximately four or five years ago at a perfume conference in Düsseldorf. At that time, I was overwhelmed by the scent, found it magnificent, and could hardly stop raving about it.

However, it is only now, after quite some time, that I am testing my sample from back then intensively and I am somewhat perplexed. The perfume is by no means spoiled or faded, but I somehow remembered it differently, more radiant, more exclusive.

What I smell is a quite decent gourmand scent that cleverly plays with the notes of oud, orange, and cinnamon already indicated in the pyramid in the top notes, with the former fortunately holding back significantly and appearing very subtly.

Shortly thereafter, a skillful caramel note follows, which slightly dampens and thickens SOL-Passion. From here on, it becomes sweet, but unfortunately also somewhat monotonous and unexciting. At the same time, my former passion, which I associated with the scent, also fades away.

Then come the usual suspects like the delicately chocolatey benzoin, the warming sandalwood, the creamy musk, and quite shallow patchouli. Only the cozy amber or soft vanilla would have been missing now. The most interesting moments arise when the orange occasionally shines through with the cinnamon.

Thus, Secrets Of Love - Passion remains a pleasant companion for cooler days, yet it does not make my heart leap for joy. It is simply too uninspiring, and I wonder what I would have written four or five years ago. We do not know, but with the same time gap, I would like to test the scent again and continue my impressions below.
Whether that will happen remains to be seen, as apparently SOL-Passion has already been taken off the market and my sample is empty.

The Scent of Passion?? Secrets of Love? Seriously? I’m supposed to write about this??
Well, really… I constantly complain in many comments that I’m always single, so one can assume that I have no idea about love at all, and yet I’m testing a fragrance that wants to tell us something about the “secrets of love,” in this case about passion!

Honestly, the likelihood that I will decipher all the secrets of the universe with its countless galaxies and universes all by myself without the slightest knowledge of astronomy and physics is many times higher than the chance that I can uncover even a single secret of love :D
… *sigh*

But I can at least try to describe this fragrance as accurately as possible, whether it smells like love to me or not,… well, as I said, trust my opinion here a little less this time… unless I write something about cuddling cats, because I’m quite knowledgeable about that :DD

The Scent:
At the beginning, I smell oud and caramel; the fragrance is generally extremely spicy and will therefore only appeal to those who enjoy heavy spicy-oriental scents.
Despite the heaviness of the fragrance, it doesn’t feel overly oppressive, which is also due to the beautiful, resinous notes that make it smoother and softer. For example, there’s cashmere, which is already a soft note, and of course the resin benzoin, which also softens this fragrance with its sweet and incense-like, but gentler scent. Both notes make the fragrance really pleasant :D
Oranges might be hinted at in the beginning, but they don’t have a refreshing effect and come across as slightly bitter in the background. However, the oranges fade away quickly.
A little later, it continues to smell of (light) oud, as well as those beautiful, gentle notes. The sweet scents now smell not only of caramel but also have a slightly fruity undertone and smell a bit like sweet dried fruits to me.
Much later, the fragrance, however, smells significantly spicier again, although you can still smell gentle, resinous notes along with sandalwood. The spiciness also makes the fragrance feel a little more mature.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage may seem somewhat strong at first, but it quickly diminishes, which may be due to the gentle notes. I had the feeling that the majority of the fragrance, in terms of projection, is rather average and therefore shouldn’t be detectable at too great a distance.
I found the longevity to be quite good at more than 14 hours.

The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular but has a rounded or arch-like shape at the top. The special thing about the bottle is that it is surrounded by a bronze-golden metal casing that is adorned with punched-out decorations. The brand name is engraved on the side of the bottle or the metal casing. It is topped off with a gilded, round cap. A very beautiful bottle!

Hmm… I find the scent quite pleasant. At first, it is a little overwhelming since the oud is still quite strong, making it rather exhausting in this summer heat. But then the gentle notes come into play and make the fragrance nicely pleasant. Although it’s still not suitable for summer, it’s not so oppressive if someone wants to wear it in summer. I would prefer to use it in autumn. As a nice daytime scent that is also good for going out. But more for women, as the scent comes across to me as quite feminine rather than unisex.

So,… does the scent smell of passion or love?
Hmm… as I said,… better not ask me, really not…
I can only say what I always write about nicely scented women’s fragrances: Yes, it smells nice and “tasty,” so I would at least like to smell such a fragrance on a woman (although I could still do without the spicy part of the fragrance, even if it’s less pronounced here), … because this fragrance… oh… here it comes… you can already guess it… sometimes smells quite BITEABLE!

*sigh*
But well, what do I know about such things? :DD

But you can give it a try. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it smells nice and comes in a really beautiful bottle!

Pretty spicy and orange-y, with a caramel twist over a slight oud and soft resinous background, a beautiful spicy-oriental-fruity-gourmand.

Orange and caramel over a soft and delicate oud base, medicinal and dark but not fecal at all. Woody sweet scent, almost gourmand. Great!

Spicy-woody-resinous scent of orange cinnamon, patchouli & caramel, with sweetness tempered by a light veil of oud. Very pleasant.

After hours of unbearable caramel sweetness, some spicy woods cautiously peek around the corner. Why not just start with that?

I don't know if Martine is pregnant. In my opinion, gourmand with fruity soap doesn't fit. Not a nice scent. It makes me feel nauseous.

Extremely gourmand bomb, reminiscent of Satin Mood by MFK, very very sweet-caramel, in the dry down, parallels to A*Men, not for me!

Grandma's med. drops now come with cinnamon and oranges. The new tequila, so to speak. Caramel is also being nibbled on. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing for me.

Difficult... at first Oud and Patchouli here almost medicinal - dissonance with gourmand notes. Later it does feel more harmonious, but still doesn't convince.
