Well, really… I constantly complain in many comments that I’m always single, so one can assume that I have no idea about love at all, and yet I’m testing a fragrance that wants to tell us something about the “secrets of love,” in this case about passion!
Honestly, the likelihood that I will decipher all the secrets of the universe with its countless galaxies and universes all by myself without the slightest knowledge of astronomy and physics is many times higher than the chance that I can uncover even a single secret of love :D
… *sigh*
But I can at least try to describe this fragrance as accurately as possible, whether it smells like love to me or not,… well, as I said, trust my opinion here a little less this time… unless I write something about cuddling cats, because I’m quite knowledgeable about that :DD
The Scent:
At the beginning, I smell oud and caramel; the fragrance is generally extremely spicy and will therefore only appeal to those who enjoy heavy spicy-oriental scents.
Despite the heaviness of the fragrance, it doesn’t feel overly oppressive, which is also due to the beautiful, resinous notes that make it smoother and softer. For example, there’s cashmere, which is already a soft note, and of course the resin benzoin, which also softens this fragrance with its sweet and incense-like, but gentler scent. Both notes make the fragrance really pleasant :D
Oranges might be hinted at in the beginning, but they don’t have a refreshing effect and come across as slightly bitter in the background. However, the oranges fade away quickly.
A little later, it continues to smell of (light) oud, as well as those beautiful, gentle notes. The sweet scents now smell not only of caramel but also have a slightly fruity undertone and smell a bit like sweet dried fruits to me.
Much later, the fragrance, however, smells significantly spicier again, although you can still smell gentle, resinous notes along with sandalwood. The spiciness also makes the fragrance feel a little more mature.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage may seem somewhat strong at first, but it quickly diminishes, which may be due to the gentle notes. I had the feeling that the majority of the fragrance, in terms of projection, is rather average and therefore shouldn’t be detectable at too great a distance.
I found the longevity to be quite good at more than 14 hours.
The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular but has a rounded or arch-like shape at the top. The special thing about the bottle is that it is surrounded by a bronze-golden metal casing that is adorned with punched-out decorations. The brand name is engraved on the side of the bottle or the metal casing. It is topped off with a gilded, round cap. A very beautiful bottle!
Hmm… I find the scent quite pleasant. At first, it is a little overwhelming since the oud is still quite strong, making it rather exhausting in this summer heat. But then the gentle notes come into play and make the fragrance nicely pleasant. Although it’s still not suitable for summer, it’s not so oppressive if someone wants to wear it in summer. I would prefer to use it in autumn. As a nice daytime scent that is also good for going out. But more for women, as the scent comes across to me as quite feminine rather than unisex.
So,… does the scent smell of passion or love?
Hmm… as I said,… better not ask me, really not…
I can only say what I always write about nicely scented women’s fragrances: Yes, it smells nice and “tasty,” so I would at least like to smell such a fragrance on a woman (although I could still do without the spicy part of the fragrance, even if it’s less pronounced here), … because this fragrance… oh… here it comes… you can already guess it… sometimes smells quite BITEABLE!
*sigh*
But well, what do I know about such things? :DD
But you can give it a try. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it smells nice and comes in a really beautiful bottle!
