Less pistachio than expected
This smells suspiciously similar to Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62, aka the Bum Bum cream perfume.
I don't mind dupes at all, as long as they're either cheaper or give the fragrance a more refined twist. This is neither. Unfortunately, most of the new Collection Dessert by Micallef is heavily inspired by other fragrances. These perfume don't smell bad, they're just underwhelming and way to expensive for what they are.
Despite being named after the super-trendy pistachio, this one smells less nutty and gourmand than its inspiration. There is only a subtle pistachio note, more reminiscent of pistachio ice-cream than the real nut, and it's only really noticeable in the opening.
The rest of the fragrance is sweet, creamy and fruity to me. I always found the original Cheirosa 62 scent a little fruity, too, even though it does not have fruit listed anywhere. Pistachio Chic is even fruitier. The juicy, almost watery texture and sweetness of pear is really noticeable. I like that!
The rest of the interesting sounding notes, like chestnut, cardamom and rum, are not so prominent. I would even go so far and say they're completely absent to my nose.
This has a more synthetic vibe than the Cheirosa 62 line. From a more optimistic point of view, I guess calling it a fresher and cleaner version would describe it equally well. I prefer the warm gourmand version though.
As a fan of Cheirosa 62 I still think this smells good, but I really see no reason to buy it as long as the Sol de Janeiro products exist. I was in between a 7 and a 7.5 for my final rating, and decided to round down for the lack of originality.
