Misused as a room spray or: How I learned to love you in Greece❤️
Yes, I know, silly title, but it's true :D

Rose Night was a blind buy. I was once again looking for a rose scent without much fuss, and this one caught my attention. My first Montale!

When it arrived about a month ago, I was quite excited as I unpacked it. Well, there's no need to talk about Montale bottles, as they say here in the green sauce city ;) It's a matter of taste; I don't like them all either. But I must say that I quite like the bottle due to the color combination.

So here we go. Sprayed on Rose Night and spent the day with it.

Summary:

Rose -> Yes, and very artificial. No juicy, full rose. No, quite synthetic (but not bad)
Patchouli -> a hint
Amber -> towards the end, just before it fades away
Musk -> Nope
Longevity and sillage -> insane, lasts easily 10-12 hours and wafts back to your nose repeatedly.

It doesn't go through much development. The rose is dominant and becomes sweeter towards the end and maybe a bit "realer" as the synthetic notes fade a bit. As I mentioned in my statement, Rose Night is not really oriental for me.

A bit disappointed, it first went to the shelf with its other colleagues and was skillfully ignored.

Two weeks ago, my partner and I vacationed on a beautiful island in Greece. Naturally, the question arose:

Which perfume should I take with me?
Actually totally silly. According to the weather... 30-34 degrees, not a single cloud in the sky, hotel right by the sea, which idiot wears perfume there? Well, me, maybe for the evening if we go out to eat or drink...

Did I do it? Yes. Twice in 10 days :D

Thus, Rose Night enjoyed its existence in Greece in the bathroom there and was occasionally misused as a room spray...

Until the last day.
I wore Rose Night and we went to watch the sunset at the beach one last time. With a bottle of champagne in tow. We watched the ships sail into the evening glow and decided to go for a cocktail at a very nice bar afterwards.

Our last evening went by way too quickly, and the next morning the alarm rang. We could only have a quick breakfast because soon the transfer bus would pick us up and take us to the airport.

I suggested we quickly go to the beach and say goodbye to the sea (Yes, I know it sounds silly). This time at sunrise.

As we stood there, my sweetheart hugged me and promised that we would come back soon and that I should please wear this beautiful perfume again next time... It would always remind him of the island and me.. ;(

Musk Rose
With Montale's fragrances, I always approach with caution, as you never know what might hit you...

I approached Rose Night with the same caution... One spray is enough...
I perceive a slightly citrus note, which is not listed here, but somehow I still notice it...?

Immediately, the rose comes in... As "Seerose" has beautifully described, it is a typical "Montale rose"... (However, I personally cannot crystallize out the Aoud, as you write, Seerose)...

To me, it smells slightly synthetic, yet authentic and clear... A very mature and proud, dark red rose...

Patchouli and Amra remain strongly in the background for me... but musk comes through nicely...

All in all, a great Montale musk rose with a powerful presence and excellent longevity :) Thumbs up :)

New Rose Variety Clone: "Montale Night OudRose"
In my opinion, it is not surprising that no one has yet commented on "Rose Night" by Montale.
Imagine if we had never smelled any other rose or oud fragrances individually, neither in perfumes nor in nature, except for Montale scents?
We might assume that this typical Montale scent is a unique fragrance plant or note, perhaps even a fragrant resin, namely: "Montale OudRose"
I applied "Rose Night" and noted: For a moment, something citrusy flies by, then follows a sweaty, medicinal note. And as is typical in many Montale fragrances, inevitably trailing behind is a hybrid rose, the Montale Oudrose.
I quite like that. But why are there so many clones of this at Montale? Although no oud is listed, I can smell it without a doubt. Patchouli plays an unnoticeable role. There could also be peonies and synthetic rose geranium involved. Because the initially very dense scent becomes a bit lighter, slightly floral, powdery, although I find "Rose Night" a bit too sweet and overwhelming. I taste it with a certain soapiness on my tongue.
There is room for speculation here, as we all perceive scents very differently.
However, for me, the symbiosis of "RoseOud" remains dominant, accompanied by a metallic accord and a somewhat synthetic moderate human body sweat scent note.
For everyday use, I find "Rose Night" a bit too intense. Longevity and sillage are quite satisfactory. Unisex? A definite: I don't know!

After a citrusy start, synthetic Montale rose. Bright + sweet; the patch is hidden. Instead, metal + Montale oud. In the dry down, soapy + clean. Well.

this rose is known from Roses Musk, only the sweet jasmine has been replaced by herby patch, for me it's not very nighty, more like Rose Office

Lovely, slightly synthetic little rose. Bath additive with a rose scent. Not oriental for me. Pleasant, but more intended for women.

Synthetic rose with a hint of musk.
I don't smell anything oriental.
It's wearable for men, but I see it more on women.

Starts as a red, beautiful rose.
Develops into rose soap:
Mega high quality, delicacy with maximum strength.
Rose hate: rethink.

Where are you, you just won't reveal yourself. Among all this rose, you dissipate like powder as soon as one tries to grasp you. Seeking depth...
