Fruity with some leather on the backend

Starts punchy and extremely fruity, with the leather coming out more and more as the perfume ages on skin. A little does go a long way; the perfume projected far more than I was expecting from my body heat. The fruitiness definitely brings out the sweetness of the leather; I'd say that for the first hour, it seemed much more like a plum fragrance than a leather one. Because of that, the fragrance definitely leans feminine for me.

Less Beast more...

Well, it really isn't that beastly. Rather, it's a skillful combination of soft, delicate powdery/creamy notes paired with a hearty leather accord.

Beastlove starts pleasantly soft with sweet pear, tough plum, and bergamot; after a few moments/minutes, the masculine leather joins in, creating a nice twist between the fruity/sweet and the strong dominant notes.

Rose, cedar, and vetiver are slightly noticeable but remain in the background, blending in.

In the end, the powdery musk, vanilla, amber, and tonka bean allow the fragrance to fade softly, while the leather still shows some presence.

Typical for Montale, it has an almost linear progression. Some synthetic notes, but still good performance and longevity.

Leather at its finest. Pear shines through lightly. You have to like it. Everything else is very in the background. H/S as usual with Montale: BEASTMODE.
