Fruity with some leather on the backend

Starts punchy and extremely fruity, with the leather coming out more and more as the perfume ages on skin. A little does go a long way; the perfume projected far more than I was expecting from my body heat. The fruitiness definitely brings out the sweetness of the leather; I'd say that for the first hour, it seemed much more like a plum fragrance than a leather one. Because of that, the fragrance definitely leans feminine for me.

Less Beast more...

So it really isn't that heavy. Rather a skillful combination of soft, delicate powdery/creamy notes paired with a hearty leather accord.

The Beastlove starts pleasantly soft with the sweet pear, the tough plum and the bergamot. After a few moments/minutes, the masculine leather is added, creating a nice twist between the fruity/sweet and the strong dominant notes
Rose, cedar and vetiver are slightly noticeable but remain in the background and blend in.

Finally, the powdery musk, vanilla, amber and tonka bean bring the fragrance to a soft close, with the leather still showing some presence.

Typical Montale almost linear progression. Somewhat synthetic but still good performance and durability.
