The fragrance notes are so complex and wildly mixed that the scent truly sparked exorbitant curiosity in me.
Upon the first spray, one is indeed taken aback.
Blue Matcha is so different and combines citrus notes with bitter tea and leather. This makes it very special.
Unfortunately, after longer testing, the disillusionment set in.
Over time, it unfortunately comes across as very synthetic, and wearing it does not provide the same feeling as on the test strip.
I showed it to 3 people:
1. Smells like mosquito spray
2. Smells like an oriental shisha bar scent. Not meant negatively or positively.
3. Smells very interesting. I want to keep smelling it on my wrist, but I wouldn’t want to wear it.
The last opinion hits the nail on the head.
One wants to keep smelling the sprayer or strip, but really doesn’t want to wear it.
That’s why the ambivalent reviews are actually very fitting.
The scent is noticeable, but for Montale level, it is really a subtle fragrance that always stays neatly in its bubble.
So you can wear it once, and in the air, it does have something special. But for oneself, it is unfortunately not as enjoyable as the notes first suggest.
So truly absolute mediocrity. It’s okay, but nothing more than that.
